      Greetings fellow dreamers

      Hi All

Just a greeting to all of you, as I'm new around here and wanted to drop by and at least say hello. It's also nice to find a forum focused soly on the facets of Lucid Dream and dream control, and taking things further and with some twists. I have a horrible habit of getting too excited during a Lucid Dream and forcing myself awake before I can really play around with my mind's constructs. In the past 5 years of conciously trying to increase my chances of having Lucid Dreams just to play around with, I can count maybe 5 or 6 out of the 100's that I actually was able to fully explore my worlds.

I've been familiar with the concept for years, having had my first real Lucid Dream, (before I knew what they were), when I was about 16 years old. In that dream I was walking through London during a nuclear war. I was walking along a cobble stone street and just realized I was in a dream and started exploring, and remembering the feel of the radiation as it went through my body, (tingly pinpricks), but not being afraid because it was my dream. Also remembering how real it was that I could feel the cobblestones under my feet, and the texture of the wood in some of the surrounding buildings...

I was so changed by the experience I started some research and began inducing Lucid Dreams about 5 years ago, with differing results, all just opening up my curiosity that much further. I don't know anyone personally that actively tries to Lucid Dream purely for the experimental fun, (most people have had one but don't really put alot of stock in the phenominon).

And here I am to further that exploration. Hope to have some interesting conversations and share some neat experiences, especially help in teaching folks how to turn nightmares around. (I've made it a fun practice).

      -Chris

      to DreamViews, CourtingTheUnknown!

I'm glad to see that you already have had lucid dreams, and have some experience inducing them. May I ask what method(s) you use?

DreamViews is a great forum, and has a section that is more like most other forums. The Off Topic Section. (Be careful in there, you might end up spending all your time there instead of working on dreaming )

Have fun, we're glad you are here!

Thank you for the welcome~ Methods I've used in the past are dream journals and dream recall techniques to try and get my mind to differentiate between the waking world and the dream world, those and reality checks.

Presently I just do constant RC's, typically asking myself off and on if I'm dreaming, then hitting a light switch, checking a clock, newspaper or book etc... It's interesting how your waking habits start to mesh into your dreams.

The biggest example of RC's working I can think of is having had a Lucid Dream awhile back, and having a false awakening where I called my aunt, (she is like my mom), and she came over to listen to me talk about my dream. When I finished telling her about it, she asked me, "How do you know your not dreaming right now?". I laughed and said, "oh that's easy, I can do a reality check, light switches don't often work in dreams" and I went over to hit the light switch and it didn't work...

Of course she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders and faded away, and I went about having the rest of my lucid dream.

Okay, you are really doing good!

If you want to try something more...direct, check out the tutorials section, but since you have already put in all this work, I'd say, just keep doing what you are doing!

      Nice work!

Hey there! Welcome to DV, you are so going to love it here, I can tell. Its so great that you have experince with Lucid Dreaming. I think you should try out some of the other methods of inducing Lucid Dreams that we have here on the site. You are already good at the most basic way to approach Lucid Dreaming, I'm sure you would have a fun time trying out some more advance techniques. Good Luck!
