      I went lucid!

Hey guys, I just woke up from my first LD! I also met my first DC! It was really something else, I can't wait to have another one. I won't type out the whole dream, but I'll start right before I went lucid.

I had just left a king's fortress and walked towards the monorail back to the parking garage where I left my car (at the beginning) The monorail looked sort of wooden, it was painted red (I could tell it at least worked the same way as a monorail, it just didn't have glass windows (there were open window space) and looked really rickety) and the conductor stood in the cabin that I stood in (it was just a one cabin thing, still weird ) And he said some thing (I'm kinda mad, I wrote out the whole story in my DJ and forgot how our conversation went, verbatum) along the lines of "Hey did you try checking your surroundings?" Then it hit me. "Oh! Reality check! Reality check!" and I pulled out my index card with my RC on it and I went lucid. The first thing I did was tell the DC how vivid everything was and I looked at the nooks and crannies in the paint on the cabin. I remembered talking about stabilizing my dream with one of the members here but when I looked around, most of all I could see was just things moving quickly past the train. So I looked intently at my thumb and just focused on that. I did that until the train came to a stop and when we got off, I wanted to try something out. There was another monorail we could connect to (this one was a real monorail) and while we were walking past it, I saw a black cat sitting, looking out the glass door. I walked up to it and started instructing the cat to speak, but it just looked at me blankly. I tried that for a while then decided it wasn't going to work so I started walking towards the airport/gift shop (I know, kind of weird, but it had been there at the beginning of the dream) and noticed the DC walking up to a van that looked like my mother's, but I knew my mother wasn't here so I tried to stop him but he had a conversation with them about how he just mistook them. Then it started to get blurry and then I woke up. Yay! Thanks for reading this if you did!

PS- Any advice on getting things like, well, getting a cat to talk, to work? I verbally instructed it to several times (so you know how I went about it). Or maybe I'm not a strong enough LDer yet?

Congrats man! I know that feeling of exhilaration as you realize your dreaming, and the total amazement at the vivid detail, (I did the same thing, felt textures etc in my first).

As far as getting the cat to talk, it's going to be hard for a little while to make certain changes to your dream world without distrupting it a little. Part of the challenge in flying and controlling your dream is really believing you can do it, and then finding the pathways to make it happen.

Don't get discouraged, just keep it up and give yourself more opportunities to try it again!

      Great stuff ain't it?

Nice, so the king finally built the monorail. He had planned that for so long.

P.S. To get a cat to talk, pull the tail.
