      My new skills

So I've always been able to recognize that I'm in a dream. Not all the time, but every so often. I can usually logically understand if I'm in a dream or not, but I have a hard time remaining lucid.

Last night I had my longest one, using the hand technique. I recognized that I was in it, by looking at my hands, they would be cut off or fade away. Also, when I would look into mirrors my image would fade. I mainly concentrated on bringing certain people into it when I would turn corners and whatnot, but wasn't very successful. I kept having these false awakenings, each time I would look down at my hands, or check the time, to be sure i was still dreaming. It seemed like every time I tried to change the scenery, I would have a false awakening.

I'm wondering what kind of techniques i can use to be better at bringing in people into the dream, and stop what I call, "dream resetting," where I keep waking up or being placed in the beginning when i focus too hard.

Also, I think I began to think a little bit too hard... I started to think about whether the sleep i was getting was very efficient because I felt fully conscious. this is when I let myself lose control of the dream, because I kept thinking about it.

I have dreams like that all the time. Where I seem to keep popping in and out of the dream repeatedly. You've got to find that balance of staying aware in the dream without becoming so aware you wake up. You have to give the dream some freedom to play out on its own so you can stay immersed in it.
