A Gloriously New and Blissfully Ignorant Child Awaits Help

      Aye, Hello Everyone!

Obviously .. My name is Kigai. *she tips her nonexistant hat with a faint, ironic smile* Since this is the "Newbie" forum, and we are to
introduce ourselves, I hope that I make no unconcious blunder. If one has Yahoo! messenger, I would delighted to be Instant
Messaged. It would be a bit more swift of a conversation, and perhaps it would benefit me, help me to understand Lucid Dreaming.
My interests? .. Music, my friends. Would that I could make music, but my Band Director secretly thinks me talentless. So do I.
I spend hour after hour listening to Bob Marley, Nirvana, The Doors, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime .. How sweet to hear a
resplendent and perfect voice when one sounds like a toad themselves. Literature, also! Anne Rice, Edgar Allan Poe, Elinor Wiley,
Alexandre Dumas, Jane Austen, Gary Larson .. (Haha) Many others. Art, of course. If I were to list artists, I'm afraid I would run
out of room. I delight in Anime, and Manga, and all things Japanese. I wish to have many friends and companions, and always
someone to love me. My age, I suppose people would like to know that. I am thirteen. Please, good people! Guide me through this
realm, and teach me your skills. IM me, if you will. I should be looking forward to meeting you all ...
This is the only sun that you will ever see again. But a millenium of nights will be yours to see light as no mortal has ever seen it. To snatch from the distant stars, as is you were Prometheus, an endless illumination by which to understand all things.

Ha! You are a dreamer, young Kigai. But perhaps most of your dreams are daydreams, however. If you want a lucid dream, all you need do is consume the literature available on this site - and use it as your guide. If you enjoy the arts as much as it appears, you'll enjoy creating a bit of your own literature by writing down your dreams in the morning when you wake up. Study your dreams - they will tell you more about yourself than people will.

As for your poll - I'd say you're intelligent, but not nearly well-read enough. Try Voltaire, Thoreau, Tolstoy, Huxley, Orwell, Golding. Perhaps Freud, or Jung, Nietszhe or Camus. If you enjoy the things from the East, perhaps you'd appreciate Lao Tzu or Chuang Tzu. Seek out that which exercises the mind...

      She's thirteen!

Thanks for having faith in me CT.

I would have to say Kigai you do type in the most sophisticated style I've seen a 13 year old employ. Oh hey, I like Japanese stuff too!

      Hey Kigai! Welcome

And yes... I'm also blown away at your style & maturity at the tender age of 13

I think the reason your post wasn't replied to *immediately* was firstly cos you didnt give it time and secondly because it was a little long. Nothing wrong with that, it just took time for everyone to decide to read and to finish reading

I'll add you to my buddy list if you like....

Thank you all for replying! *sweeps you into an indignified group hug* I apologize for being so impatient at first .. it was only that Mother wished me off the computer, so that I might watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show with her. ( I loved it, by the way .. ) I thank you all profusely for your compliments, and your sage advice. I promise, I will read through all here that I can. And donbowyerson .. Thank you for recommending me those authors. I will endeavor to find them at the district library, as they're bound not to have them at School. If it matters, I've read two translations of the Tao Te Ching, and I do Appreciate Lao Tzu .. At last, Sorry, Squall! I might have acknowledged your Private Message. ^_^; And Placebo, please add me to your buddy list. Now I must be off to the driveway, so that the dingy and miserably decrepit bus may cart me off to my School .. *sigh* Farewell!

Greetings, young Kigai! I am Amethyst and I welcome you to our humble home. I myself am 19 and a sophomore at the University of Montana. I am a Russian major and am currently studying the language, literature, and history (quite time consuming). I'm glad to see another younger dreamer desire to learn how to become Lucid and if you have any questions don't hesitate to post or ask myself or one of the Dream Guides or Moderators. As mentioned, the Tutorials are a wealth of information to help you get started. Hope to see you around more and hear of your successes!

Tolstoy? You might just as well mention Dostoevsky or Aldous Huxley! Good luck.... However, if you like Science Fiction or even just an intreiguing, mind-expanding story I would recommend Frank Herbert's "Dune" series. I've read the first 3 and loved them. They're not the frivolous kind of book, though, so I'd recommend it if you have a fair amount of time.

hi i know im a little late to reply, but welcome¬! you seem very interested in the 'art' AND 'science' of dreaming! the posts available on this site are of great help and also your own posts will yield very helpful feedback. lucid dreaming is an abstract concept and for some it is very hard to attain but it is possible for anyone to achieve -given the right approach and the determination. good luck and those anne rice books will help 'feed' your imagination in order for more enlightening and lucid dreams - keep reading! xxxxxxxx
