      First of all, to DreamViews!

If you realized that you were dreaming (which it sounds like you did) to any degree, you were lucid,.:3

As for tips and advice, I would just say do RCs (Reality Checks) on a regular basis, keep a DJ(to improve recall, if you don't feel like you need to it's your choice whether or not to), also try branching out to using other techniques (I assume you've been having Dream Induced Lucid Dreams(DILDs) so far)for a bit of variation.

If you don't want to do RCs all the time you can just try and have a higher general "awareness" of reality but it's up to you.

also, if you have anymore queries feel free to PM me or any of the Dream guide team and we'll be willing to help.

Welcome to DV That was a Lucid Dream, good job! Any time you know you are in a dream and can exert some control, it is a Lucid Dream. Why dont you check out the rest of the forum, people have tried so many different types of methods to achieve Lucid Dreams. I like to do reality checks to get Lucid Drams myself.

It sounded like you were aware so it must have been a LD! Congrats!

There are a number of things you can do to become better at LDing. You can start recording your dreams everyday, practicing reality checks everyday, becoming more aware of your daily surroundings, and practicing the use of auto-suggestion. The following will help greatly in your chances of becoming lucid spontaneously, a technique known as a DILDing (Dream-Initiated Lucid Dreaming).

However, there is another technique that is a fair bit more reliable, but at the cost of being a bit more of a hassle. Basically, you remain conscious all the way until you fall asleep; this is known as a WILD (Wake-Induced Lucid Dream). It can be very exciting entering the sleep stage/dream world whilst remaining conscious. WILDing is also how I got my first LD. So check it out if you're interested. Just food for thought.
