Scared of SP... well not really scared but

I don't want the whispers or anything. Does listening to music counter these "whispers" or since it's in my head, music will do nothing. I have this cd that I put on my ipod that relaxes you. I think it works better then the 61 point relaxation technique. My question is, is it worth listening to this under going SP?

Don't be afraid of anything concerning SP. SP should be a fun time, even if what's happening isn't so pleasant. For example (not meaning to scare you, but it's a good example of why having a positive outlook can make all the difference in how you feel when SP is happening), let me get you an excerpt from one of my dream journals.

Basically, my legs felt like they rose up. Then it felt like my limbs were vibrating violently and being ripped from my body. It also felt like my teeth were being ripped out, and I could taste blood.
The whole time I was thinking how awesome it was that my brain could simulate that kind of thing and give me those feelings. The thing is, every time I've had something "scary" happen to me, I stated that it wasn't real, and I knew it was just SP. The feelings of whatever was happening became washed out. Like what happened above, I never felt any real pain. Same thing with my first SP experience. I had read that people had felt like they were being choked, so that started happening to me. I knew it was SP, so I still felt hands clenched around my neck, but I could breathe just fine.

Anyway, sorry for bombarding you with a wall of text. Welcome to the forums, and I wish you luck. Just remember that SP is just that, and nothing real. Just remember that and look at what is happening positively, and you shouldn't be scared any longer.

I guess I can look at it more like a "bring it on adventure" type thing. Thanks.

No doubt I will be scared, I will just keep telling myself it's not real.

Yeah, it helps a lot. I really had no idea what to expect when I first had it but I've always had this attitude toward it, so I've never been scared of it. Have fun being lucid.

e: Although, I have to admit that I was pretty scared at first too, hearing some of the things about it. <_<
