      Unhappy Hello I need help

Hello people Im new to this stuff about lucid dreaming and such but I got a big problem I wanna have lucid dreams but here is my problem.
Im really scared for getting sleep paralysis, FA (just the thought makes me scared to wake up and in a dream again and people said that it can happend like 20 times and I would freak out and I heard some1 that had it that said he couldn't wake up or move and he started to se things, Im also afraid for the dream world... I don't like creepy things like if you dreaming and then maybe a DC coming after you and trying to do something to you or everything turns dark and such. The monsters that may come and freaky guys just looking at me and such.
So Im pretty much afraid for most things.
I heard that if you are afraid bad things will happend in the dream so you get even more scared...
I allso it was a time since I last remembered a dream when I did there was np then but now I dunno if I wanna have them again becouse Im afraid to fall into such things as FA and the dream world.
Maybe gonna try make a DJ but I dunno.
Maybe I should wait with this untill my fear goes away or try to do it and confront the fear?

What do you guys say? Is this hopeless or should I try?
I think it would be really fun to remember my dreams again and have lucids but the fear is blocking me
I even have a little hard to sleep on night becouse Im afraid that I will get SP.

      I'd say you're pretty paranoid .

But I wouldn't worry about SP, i've only experienced it while trying to WILD and thats definately not the worst part. It's quite relaxing actually. What annoys me is the loud ringing in my ears :/.

      Always try.

First to your fear of dreams in general, if you want to start lucid dreaming it is exactly the best way to fight it. Remember, in a lucid dream you have unlimited might, power whatsoever, so noone is able to harm you in any way.

Secondly FA. False awakening is in my opinion the opposite of anything scary. I mean, you just wake up in your bed. now you 1. Think its reality and go back to sleep or 2. realise that its a dream and do whatever you like

Thirdly Sleep paralysis. You experience sleep paralysis every time your body dreams, its and automatic function to prevent your body from doing the movements you do in your dream, just imagine you jump out of the window in a dream and your real body does the same, lucid dreaming would be dangerous in such a case.

The last point I want to mention, everybody is different, and lucid dreaming is not for everyone. I personaly never had a nightmare since my childhood, but even if I had. Just remember that its all in your head!

Well, you won't feel any pain in lucid dreams (i haven't anyways). Nothing can actually hurt you. What you expect to happens, happens.

I know I won't feel any pain it is just all can happen in a dream so I thinking like think if there comes something scary.
And when I think so that will happend in the dream if I understand right so I think I will need to change the way I think but may be hard before I even tried it.

But Im think Im really paranoid for everything.
Like IRL Im afraid for roller coasters and such rides becous I think something will happend and when Im at the bed I have my lights on becouse I dunno if some1 will come when it is to dark.
Pretty annoying but I don't want it to stop me from getting lucid.

Just relax and let go of all your fears. In dreams there is ZERO chance that anything can harm you physically. When you finally get a lucid dream just stand up to any of those fears or accept them and they should easily go away. The more you fear the more you allow it to control your life and dreams.

I know what you mean. Dreams of all kinds can have a pretty creepy feel to them. Experience is probably the best way to get over that creepiness. Keep a dream journal for a few days or weeks. The first few dreams may seem real creepy just because they are so foreign. After you get used to the feeling, the creepiness should fade.

A little success with lucid dreaming will kill that fear quick! The feeling is so incredible, you will never look at dreams the same way again.

I think it is worth it to get over the fear. Dreams can be so beautiful, inspirational, and educational. Personally, some of the most moving and beautiful things I've ever seen have been in my dreams.

Have you ever been afraid of doing something and after doing it laughed about your fear? It's often like that with the springboards in a swimming bath. You're afraid to jump and afterwards you think "that's it? I was afraid of this?"

Maybe you should stop hesistating and just try it, or forget about lucid dreaming at all. I recommend the first for you

What's funny is, if you are scared in your dream, you aren't really lucid. Once you are lucid, which means you know IT'S JUST A DREAM, you won't be scared anymore.

Also, sleep paralysis happens to EVERY person EVERY time they sleep. What people refer to as SP on this site is merely being CONSCIOUS as you enter the paralytic state. It always scares the crap out of me when I am conscious during the transition to paralysis, so you're not alone there. I have to remind myself these sensations are just in my mind and i'm not really hurtling backwards into space.

I was super scared of Sleep Paralysis. I HATE scary movies. I will not go see one. I will not induce SP when it's dark out since i don't want to pee myself. This is what I do.

I go to bed at 12. Wake up at 6:30. If the WILD fails try to WBTB.

I have done this three times. First time I was scared because It felt Like I was getting punched yet it didn't hurt. Then my leg magically moved out of my covers so I had to break SP to bring it back in. And today I just went into heavy relaxation for about 1hr and a half and wasn't tired so couldnt WBTB

Now I am eager to stare the Old Hag in the face and laugh at her.

And the person above me. I had a lucid nightmare and I was still scared. I couldn't change the dream so I woke myself up and tried again.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched

Oops, I was mistaken. You ARE paralyzed during REM, but SP is specifically when your mind wakes up before your body comes out of paralysis, or when your body enters paralysis before your mind goes to sleep. I used to wake myself up from nightmares and I was experiencing SP every time. It IS frightening, but I lived. I've never had SP for more than a few seconds, and it's rare and probably won't happen to you, so I wouldn't trip.

I take that back. I HAVE been scared while I was lucid and for the very reason you were. But usually, the lucidity takes away the fear because whatever is scaring me suddenly seems a silly figment of my imagination.

The only time I think it would be hopeless to try is to go into it with this sort of attitude. The point of lucid dreaming is that you are aware that you are dreaming, and an integral part (for me) when aware that I am dreaming is to be aware that it means that nothing around me is real, and therefore can't harm me. I'd foster more this attitude, than the doom-and-gloom paranoia that you shouldn't have for any reason whatsoever and will psych you out.

Check out these two threads, I think they will help you but ultimately this is a very personal thing that you will have to address to really embrace lucid dreaming, and to make sure that you don't let this fear run rampant and make it responsible for turning every single lucid dream into a nightmare.

Sleep Paralysis is NOT scary. Surprising, yes. Freaky, just a wee bit. Don't worry about it.
Personally, when I have sleep paralysis the only negative emotion I experience is frustration. You know, some people don't even experience Sleep Paralysis.

If you ever need help with anything else, PM me. I would be glad to help
