When trying a Wild how long dose it usually take from when you start staying still to when you get to SP.

You shouldn't being focusing on getting SP unless SP is all you want to achieve. Focus on getting a lucid dream instead, and you'll find you're more successful. Anyway, when ever I try WILD, I'm usually in the dream within 5 minutes after waking up to WBTB.

By reading the tutorials it seems as though (if you counting your breaths) after about 300 breaths you should be there or close to there.

Sorry if this answer sounds stupid, but it's the best I can explain it from my own experience. Basically once you get sleepy the amount of time it is taking becomes irrelevant. It just begins to fly by and every moment is in no way relative to the scale of time. It doesn't make sense, but you'll know what I mean when you reach that point. From the second the hypnogogic images start, there is no way to guess how much time is passing, unless someone is timing you with a stop watch and tells you upon awakening.

If you're feeling like it's taking a long time, that means your body isn't falling asleep. Once it does, the fun begins.
