      Get out of my head

How do you get a series of reaccuring dreams out of your head?
My dreams have no meaning, because they make no sense what so ever.
There's nothing wrong with my life right now that has anything to do with these reaccuring dreams. I know this goes against this whole website but I would much rather sleep a deep sleep, dream-free or... dream-forgotten then to dream every night about wierd and strange things. All of my dreams remind me of something that would be on some stupid Sci-Fi or horror movie. I can't really remember the last time I slept a 'peaceful' night.

So, How do I get these (if not reaccuring then really corny) dreams to stop.
Now, I'm not saying that I don't want to dream at all, I'm just saying that I want to dream about something other than Sci-Fi.

Well, is Sci-Fi something that you enjoy, in waking life? Is it something that you are constantly involved in (whether watching movies or reading books)? If so, that's probably why you dream about it so much. I'm an action movie/game/book fanatic, so most of my dreams are like that. The only way you could get them to stop (as far as I know) would be to completely lose interest. You would take the residual affect Sci-Fi has on your mind away, and it wouldn't be the least bit important to you, so you would (conceivably) stop dreaming about it so much. This is much easier said than done.

Another option would be to work on becoming lucid, whenever you notice these strange, sci-fi happenings. You could then spin yourself a new dream. It probably isn't something that's going to happen overnight, though, and will take some work.

But, another thing you can do is just embrace them. No matter what, you can't stop dreaming altogether, and you can't always control the things that affect your dreams. The more comfortable you become with them, the more you will be able to have them and still feel "at peace."

Oh, and don't feel that it's somehow weird that your dreams are completely odd and don't make any sense. That seems to be a very common theme, in the dreaming community. Heh.
