      New To DreamViews

Hello, my name here is Modjulator, or Modj for short. I can be considered as "new" here, but I'll give you all a brief history of myself.

I am what people call a lurker. I prowl forums, never ever posting. I usually prefer to read rather than right; even if I have something great to contribute to a discussion, I will say nothing. If I ever have a question, I will go great lengths to find the answer to it without asking. If that is not possible, I will simply have that question go unanswered. This whole 'lurker code' has been a rule of thumb for me ever since I began reading forums.

      DreamViews is my exception.

I have been lurking these forums casually for a roughly two months, give or take. Therefore, although I may be new to all of this, I have acquired a humble understanding of Lucid Dreaming. However, as I continued to read these forums, I have become more and more interested on the whole subject of Dreaming. I began to read the forums more and more, and lately, began reading through the forums on a daily basis.

Although I have been attempting to WILD since the day I found this website (I have come relatively close, but never quite reached the actual dreamstate), I never discussed Dreaming in this context with other people. I found that Dreaming is a huge interest that I have, and I have decided to devote the attention to it that I feel is deserved. Like many, if not most of you, I like to view Dreaming not as just something that we all do at night, but rather as something fantastic and wonderful and sadly, vastly underappreciated. This is why I have decided to stop simply lurking the forums. I would love to become part of this small dreaming society, as it truly is a huge interest in my life. I have found in this case that watching from the outside is not enough for me; that here I want to belong.

Well, that's pretty much a little summary of me. I sincerely hope that one day I can become a distinguished member on this website, and that one day I can too master the absolutely incredible art of Dreaming.

Hey. I'm new hear too, but I'm familiar with lurkers. You guys generally have the greatest points, because you keep them to yourself for months.

I haven't had a real lucid dream yet, but I've been trying for about 5 days. It gets frusterating for me, because I'll tell myself I'll have one, then I'll sort of wake up and go "Alright, let's have this dream!". Its quite annoying . I sleep pretty deep, so gaining lucidity is going to be a challenge, that's for sure.

Anyway, dreaming is something so underlooked but so exciting to all of us, I guess, so welcome.

      Ello, thanks for the welcome!

Generally this simply all takes alot of discipline and patience. I have faced a rather similar problem as you are dealing with. Pretty much I will get close to having the dream, and my excitment will be enough to ward off any hopes of success. From what I have read and from a little bit of my own experience, you just need to find complete and total peace in your mind. For me, I found that focusing on what is called the third eye, or the region located roughly between your eyebrows is very helpful. I would have to explain this as not just thinking of it as a physical spacial sense, but in a mental sense as well. Also, just having your eyes go loose and not controling them at all is a huge helper for me. Pretty much while I focus on the "third eye" of my mind, my eyes will shift on their own to both be staring at an area directly infront of me. At this point, while my eyes are closed, I personally begin to see almost like white blobs and swirls in this area. The trick is not to look at it; in other words, do not try to see what it is, just accept it as being there, and let it grow to consume your entire inner vision. This is the part I havnt passed yet, as I am used to looking at things that pop up and suprise me.

In a short summary, just let everything flow naturally. Don't try to push yourself, just make yourself as peaceful as possible. In addition, I say all of this with the uttermust humblness. I know that I have nowhere near the experience as many of the other posters here, but I figured I'd just throw in a little piece of info that has been a personal help to myself.

      See ya around, Ethereal!
