Thread: What is an OBE? how do you have one?

I am no expert on the subject, nor do I want one. Some say it's "astral fields". I would like to know your question as well. I was just going to ask it.

Well, you should buy some books on it and follow the techniques and see what happens.

it probably is the title beyond dreaming cos i have heard of people OBE from lucid. this would show that OBE is a higher level or plane of experience from lucid. i read OBE is clearer and you know you are you (some dreams many are not really sure if it is them, third or first person)

An out of body experience is simply an experience during which you perceive that you are no longer within your body.
Now, lots of people have different interpretations of this. Some believe that it is your actual soul or whatever leaving your physical body... if this is what you mean, let me know so that I may move this to BD for you so that you'll get relevant responses.

On the other hand, since it seems like you are addressing a WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream), then yes, WILDs can occur in the form of an OBE (and this is what I believe those induced OBEs are), where you will perceive that you are leaving your dream body behind because you have successfully entered a dream. In this instance, yes, you can do essentially whatever you want to in your dreams, just like any other lucid dream. You can do this at any point in time, though it may be easier to DEILD or after a WBTB after at least 5 hours of sleep.

Technically if someone thinks an OBE is an actual occurrence of them leaving their body behind, this isn't a lucid dream because they are not realizing it's simply a dream.

I'm not knocking it. I'm all for it.

But yeah, The fake WILDing out of bodies are fairly common. I've had a couple of short ones, and was easily able to determine that I was just in a dream world.

But some people who claim to have had real ones, say that they can easily tell beyond doubt the difference. And it is not just a dream. I'm not about to call those people liars because of some prejudice against it.
I'd love to have an experience like that. We will all find out the truth of it soon enough anyway. Life is very short term.

i am sure lots confuse the two but lots of people have had and know the difference. i know you are not saying this but lots of people just say i dont believe in it without ever having one. this is the normal human response to something they dont know the answer to. it is arogant. not you Caradon.
