My first shot at a WILD

Hi, I am new to these forums and looking for any advice.

Ive only had 1 lucid dream before, that was a long time ago and at the time i didn't know anything about lucid dreams.

like 4 days ago or so, i started reading up on lucid dreaming and also self hypnosis, and also recording my dreams. (not that good at it yet, i can only remember 1 a night and not that well.)

I tried WILDing for the first time last night at 3 am, and then I woke up early at 7 to try again.

The first try, I counted my breaths until about 300, after that I kept forgetting what i was on and starting over in random spots. I probably would have counted to at least 500.

My body felt really heavy and I felt my muscles twitch as it said they would in the tutorial i was going off of. I also felt a random wave of little tingles all over my legs and arms at one point.

something unexpected is that randomly one eye would open itself for an in stand then close, and then id catch a glimpse of the outside world.

I was starting to see some colors and shapes, and they were like triangles set up in a circle, and they would all spin and all go to the center of the circle, and start over. I heard some little sounds but im not sure if they were from outside or not.

I tried to ignore all external feelings, but with the itching, twitching and tingles, and the urge to swallow were too much, and i couldnt help but become excited/frightened about the situation and had to open my eyes and give up.

I tried again when i woke up at 7, but i counted to 50 and realised my mind was too tired to deal with all that again.

Also i found that sleeping facing up with my arms at my side is really, really uncomfortable, and when im on my side and i am really relaxed, its hard not to drool, because i cant feel my jaw very much

any advice at all? i am thinking of doing tons of push ups or exercise to tire myself out more.

Personally, I think you should try something else since you pretty much new the whole Lucid Dreaming experience. I never like suggesting WILD to newbies. I'm not kidding when I say that pretty much 90% of the time, they can't do it. Why not try DILD instead. It'll get your foot in the door so you can work your way up to a WILD. If you still want to try, it's probably best to strengthen you recall above all else. Of course, I'm NO expert on WILD. If you go to the search function, look around for posts that address all of your WILDing problems, because everything in your post is being discussed in a couple of recent threads. And there's always the Tutorial Section.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or anyone else with green stars.
