      Storms and lucid dreams?

when there was a storm outside I had a lucid dream, was this because the thunder woke me up half way while I was dreaming?
how do you know if you aren't in a 'dream' right now?

Could be. You could never completely prove it, but if we did a study in the research area on lucid dream counts during storms compared to lucid dream counts during normal weather, we could get a general idea of a connection, if one exists.

While on the subject, I had the first LD I've had in two weeks yesterday, and it's the first time it's rained here in a few months...

I definitely think it was most likely that you were disrupted from REM sleep by the thunder. Actually, frustratingly enough this happened to me about an hour ago when I was napping. My phone rang and woke me up, I hit the silence button on it and went back to bed, immediately getting vibrations and just started to LD and then my phone beeped really loud that I had a message and woke me up and I couldn't ge back into he groove b/c i was too disrupted by then, darnit. Oh well. Try the WBTB method to induce lucids, sounds like it would be good for you.

I myself have several Lucid dreams that revolve around the weather. But I have a profound interest in the weather. Do you have an interest in the weather?
If not, chances are true what Lucidnina & Tsen said.

I think there are lucid dream induction devices like that on the internet?? Try looking around.
