      Curious question

Long story short, I'm scared of eerie places. I just am, I can't get over it, and by eerie I mean quiet, dark places. In the few times I have attained lucidity, which was brief in itself, I always did it at around 4:30-5:30 AM when I was REM; however when I woke up (got lucid) it was still dark out.

Now I know this sounds completely childish, but whenever I'm a 'what's the worst that can happen' idea maker. So when I'm wandering through the dark, I usually get lost, I can't turn on the Lights, etc etc....

Is there any way, excuse the childish yet again, but to make myself awake in daylight? Or do I just sometimes wake not even in bed, but in random places such as school, friends house, doctor, etc.?

      Thanks.

It's your dream. Do as you please .

That said, it can be hard, or it can be easy. I still cannot change the scene very well so I cannot really help.. I guess if you spin and think of a scene and open your eyes it should change.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched

On entering dark & eerie places the dreambody feels uneasy.
Sometimes the dreamer just isn\\\'t ready to face eerie places or darkness.
Your thoughts (fear) become action in the Dream state, and you should remember that it is a dream which you can change-
if the direction it takes is not one you enjoy.

I usually find myself in darkness, but I think & concentrate on moonlight above me - then it surrounds & lights up the landscape for me.

I totally agree. Tried this in my first (and only) LD cause it was fading and when I stopped it was really colorful and vivid and sunny. You obviously don't want darknerss in your dreams so try spinning in your dream next time. It's a weird concept when your awake (i.e. spinning) so just imagine you're the Mask
TODAY is the greatest day of all!!!

Yeah, spinning seems to be the easy answer to any question involving the content of a lucid dream, and does indeed seem to sove a lot of problems, i.e. length, content, control.

Alternatively, if you are one of the few people that spinning doesn't help, then just concentrate on light.

Perhaps this is better. The excitement of some new LDers can end the LD prematurely. The eerie feel makes things less "happy"/exciting and can give you a calm, steady introduction into a LD. Just stand up in your dream, slowly recognize and feel your powers, then just fly out, teleport somewhere, lift up the sun etc.
