      my technique

Every night I don't try to a certain method, I do a mixture of DILD and WILD I think. Through out my day I do RC's and become aware of DS's. Every time I go to sleep I attempt to WILD, when I first go to bed and I set an alarm to wake up after X amount of hours. My first LD I had woken up for about 20ish mins and then decided to try and WILD. I was doing just fine but I think I lost track of my thought and started to dream. Then in the first few seconds of my dream I realized it was a dream (noticed a DS then had a still image for a few seconds, came back and did a RC) and went lucid. So did I have a WILD or a DILD? And is it bad to mix and match like I do, I'm just trying to use the most of my time and really get into lucid. Brb taking a nap

I'm just a noob too, but I can't see how mix and matching techniques would be detrimental to the dreaming experience. I would say just to do whatever works for you.

Well, a DILD means the dream was already happening, you were not lucid, and then you became lucid. A WILD means you started the dream conscious. Which was it closer to?

I don't really WILD except to DEILD. I'm not sure how most WILDers would classify their dreams, if there is a little give in kind of zoning out during the transition? I'd still call it a WILD if you just sort of realized you were suddenly in a dream.
