Woohoo! My first lucid dream!

I started researching lucid dreams about two months ago and stuck to a very rigorous regime of journaling, reality checks, and MILDing (over 50 reality checks a day, and MILDing all through the night every night). About three weeks ago I took a hiatus because I needed all the sleep I could get for a certification. I haven't worked on lucid dreams since, and last night I had my first one out of nowhere! I was in a normal dream, and it must've happened at about 3:45am. I was in a big bath tub while watching a big screen TV in front of me. I was watching football, and I thought that it was a little strange for me to be in this situation. One of the things I had learned to do is that whenever I see something off, I do a reality check (if I see a weird looking person, a pink car, a bird hitting a window, etc). I look back at the TV and see that the people playing football are actually Wii characters (Miis). I think this is strange, too. I decide to do a reality check. I count eight fingers on my left hand and laugh. I think it's funny how I miscounted my fingers so bad (I'm still convinced this is reality at this point). I then count seven on my right, and then seven on my left. Frustrated that I can't seem to count correctly, I quickly do a nose check, and I could breath through my nose! I say, "holy shit! I'm dreaming!" It was the most liberating experience of my life. I never felt so free--ever! At that point I knew I could do anything without consequence. I decide to stand up and start spinning. While I spin, I remember that people say you will teleport somewhere else and I'm thinking "that seems very unlikely, but I do want to keep the dream going." What do you know, I appear outside the hotel! I walk towards some people and scream at the very top of my lungs "HEY I'M FUCKING DREAMING YOU FUCKING COCK SUCKERS!" I'm not sure why I was so vulgar since I never say anything like that usually. I guess I was just so elated and wanted to do something totally absurd. The two people ahead don't even turn around. I say to my self "yep, I'm totally dreaming--those guys didn't even react." I spin again, but the dream quickly drifts away and I wake up. I woke up extremely excited and wrote the whole thing down. I was so happy with my unexpected "enlightenment," that I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. I have to thank this forum because here I picked up that I needed to start doing the nose check because before I was just doing the finger check. So thanks!

Amazing! Its so true the nose reality check is the best one, thats the one I did in my first lucid dream. I shouted that I was dreaming too, just minus the You cock suckers.
