This was very unexpected since i gave up on lucid dreaming about 3 months ago, but i think i got a little bit too excited becuse things started getting fuzzy, so i tried rubbing my hands together, it worked a little bit but then everything got kinda "smeared" and i woke up. Now, several hours later i'm not sure if i really had a LD. Is it really possible to do a RC and starting to rub your hands together becuse the dream is starting to fade without even having a LD?

Sorry for my bad english, im from sweden.
I would say that it is a LD since you seem to have recognized that you are dreaming through the RC

Don't wanna be pesimist, but maybe he dream I recognized that he was dreaming throught the RC...
That happened to me a lot, Do a rc, and say, oh I'm dreaming...but I'm never conscious of what I'm saying

In a Lucid Dream you know you are conscious...you can't have doubts!

I still wonder whether my first lucid was really just an FLD. >_< I guess I'll never know.
I'm just going to link you to my DJ. Comments, please

well, if it was a "true" LD you'd feel like "wow I'm actually there"
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

hello! I had another of these dreams...
I will tell you, I don't want to consider them False lucid dreams anymore...
I think that they are lucid dreams(you know you are dreaming) but maybe awareness is so so so so so low that you can't think clearly, and maybe you don't have complete control over your actions and thoughts...but yes, it is a lucid, but you not control completely your body, you not control yourself...
I have these dreams whenever I fall asleep counting breaths, or trying WILD....not always...but ok.
      So
FLD = HIPER LOW AWARENESS LUCID DREAM
it's strange, you feel you are there, but it's like being drunk, the difference of consciousness is too big that when you wake up you will fast classiffy this as a FLD...but it is not.
but, when you have a nice awareness level, you know everything..you know that all you are seeing it's a dream, you recognice that some aspects of the scene are bad(why is that chair there? why is John there? Why I'm naked?)
      ....
So, I can say that I had like 8 lucid dreams, but my awareness was to low that I can't consider them like perfect lucid dreams, at least, in a perfect lucid dream, you can think clearly, you are completely conscious.
A way to confirm the difference, is having at least one perfect lucid dream...
with all of your awareness, with no doubts.
all of my "False lucid dreams" were too vivid, that's why I was too dizzy to understand.
In a low awareness level, is like letting you flow, flow to the dream, without being a little aware.
      It's strange, it's hard.
In those dreams, I was like that, but in the dream I felt like I could take decisions...it's like a fight...between consciousness and unconciousness...

when the brain got it right, these will end.
You can difference between a big aware and a lack of aware, when you try to remember the dream, and think what have you really should done if you really were there....so there is it.
In my case, I should look all the dream very carefully, I should have a big happiness....

      but that's it...

False Lucid Dreams are only Lowest Awareness Dreams, just we only are very dizzy to understand them.....
And if you do a RC, it's like doing it passively, and all of the dream scene change to what you probably do if you know you are dreaming...

      okkkkkkkkaaaaaaay

      good bye!

(maybe we could try to increase our consciousness, but how? how we REALLY do that?)
