Too be considered lucid you have to be fully aware that you are dreaming and then to take some form of control. So if you have a dream and think to urself in the dream, that you are dreaming, then you have a chance to become lucid and control the dream.

A lucid dream is an unmistakeable experience...when you have one...you will know. It's like actually being fully aware and "in" your dream, like how they enter the subconscious in The Cell, or in Vanilla Sky, rather than just a blurred memory of a dream when you wake.

Well the main difference is that when your in a dream, you dont actually feel yourself in it, you usually just go to sleep and in the morning you have memories of it.

Lucid dreams are a totally different experience.

Instead of waking up with memories of one, you can actually feel yourself in a dream, and the whole thing happens in real time.

When you havea lucid dream you will know the difference, it is amazing to put it simply. but you cant explain it properly, because its a feeling and such a feeling cant be expressed in words...

ive said this before to somewone who asked the same question; its like trying to tell a person who has been blind all their life what the sky looks like.

well for example: I had a dream where i could tell i was dreaming, but didnt care. like even though i didnt "summon people" or "fly" i knew i was in a dream, and i could control myself a little. And after the dream i realise impossible proportions, such as jumping extra far. And i can tell my dream exactly how it happened, just about every deatail because it was so vivid. I can sometimes think to myself something isnt right... or know something isnt right, but still i wolnt say to myself "I must be dreaming!" any help would be appreciated.

Well the first thing you need to do is begin keeping a dream journal. Write down all your dreams, every detail...you can read more about this in the tutorials sections. After you have a dream journal you will be able to identify certain "dream signs"...like as you have said "jumping really high" or other signs, that occur in a majority of your dreams...some people's include being nude in public, or things that just aren't right...etc. Then once you recognize one of your dream signs when you are dreaming, do a reality check. There is a whole bunch of information on reality checks...but once you are at the point where you can actually do a reality check, you are probably already lucid because you are questioning the reality of your dream. Reality checks include...looking at a clock to see if the numbers change, trying to read (b/c its nearly impossible to read anything in a dream), holding your nose closed and trying to breathe is a favorite, trying to fly, etc. If you have any more questions, look through the tutorials or feel free to ask me or PM me.

      i think you mean he.

rule one of dreamviews, pay no attention to the gender signs. they mean nothing.

      ...dont ask.

anywa, yeah nina put it all in a nutshell there.

And dont worry about not recognising dreamsigns, ive been chased by 50 ft cyborgs through NYC while i was wearing a clowns wig and riding a flying space hopper, with the apocolypse raining down upon me...and i didnt realise i was ina dream.

Its just like that, dont worry about it!
