      Hello

Hi, I'm new here and haven't had a lucid dream yet but I'd like to have one. The concept sounds really cool.
I'd like to drop a couple questions though, lucid dreaming is similar to astral projection, nearly identical techniques and feelings so how do you tell if you are having a lucid dream or astral projection?
My second question is that in a lucid dream, i heard you can control everything, even the event of your adventure, so if that's the case, wouldn't lucid dream adventures be really boring because you already know the outcome? And a third question ^^, how real does it feel?

hi! it can feel as real, even real-er than real life. Lucid dreaming differs from astral projection in the sense that people who "astrally project" think they are doing so but are in fact just dreaming, and in lucid dreams you realize this.

i heard you can control everything, even the event of your adventure, so if that's the case, wouldn't lucid dream adventures be really boring because you already know the outcome?
the degree of control varies. It's not like watching a movie- it's like you're really there. So imagine you are flying around in the sky, feeling the wind around you and fighter jets woozing by, or in the playboy mansion- and you can do whatever you want- infinite possibilities.

When you first gain the ability to become lucid you fell amazed and the simplest things will amuse you, and as you try different induction techniques and learn to gain control and vividness you will be able to do some pretty cool things, like flying etc.
Nothing beats the feeling of your first lucid tho, its just like, wow I'm in a dream! lol

Yes. There are certain techniques used to increase the clarity of dreams. Also vividness, it depends on a lot of different factors but normally during your REM stage (dream stage) dreams will be so vivid that they're like real life. It's hard to remember how vivid dreams are if you're not lucid though, but in my experiences in LDs, they are all extremely vivid. You'll see what I mean once you have a LD

You have to be careful though, because a lot of people get very excited once they have an LD so the clarity melts away until you wake up. Again, there are techniques to retain clarity and focus. Generally you can just dream spin (spin in circles in the dream) or rub your hands and this increases clarity pretty well for most people. Other people have different techniques like yelling "increase clarity" or clapping their hands. Once you get experienced you won't even have to use these techniques an you'll be able to increase the clarity just by focusing your mind.
