      Howdy!

Just thought I'd drop a howdy to everyone and give a little info about myself.

I've been having random lucid dreams since I was 8 or so. Rare for me to remember them, but I never really thought about them till a few months ago when we were discussing them at work.

Spent the last couple hours or so reading through the forums and noticed a lot of things that I either do already or have happen a lot. Case in point, I seem to have auditory hallucanations about 2 or 3 times a month. Very vivid dreams, when I can remember them very often. Seem to have woken up and have my whole body just lurch though I think I'm awake I can't ever tell when it happens, usually that will bring me completely awake....freaks me out a bit. And I usually form my dreams by going into a trance like state as I fall asleep, mainly due to my vivid imagination. Might as well do something interesting while I wait to pass out.

For the longest time I thought most ppl did the same. It wasnt till one of the guys at work said that it sounded like I had lucid dreams. So I looked it up on the net and found myself here. Which now I know where to go, I'll have to really start trying to figure out how to control them.

Now I hope to start a dream journal soon, and also to start working on my dream recall but is there any good suggestions on what works the best for keeping a journal, like a pad of paper and pencil, or should I look for a diary type book?

Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
sometimes dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .

Whatever dream journal you use, just make sure it is something that is attractive to you. Something that makes you want to write in it. You can always start an online dream journal here, also in the DJ section:

It is a fun way to share dreams with others, and get some input.

I hope you are able to fully explore these dreams. You are lucky to have them naturally.
