Exclamation Trouble with staying in LD's

I know I've had LD's before, but I never really remembered to look it up until today. I also have a lot of precognitive dreams, but that's a different story.

I would love to control my dreams, but whenever I figure out that I'm dreaming, I'm usually in a nightmare. Like I'll know I'm dreaming because of the different landscapes or other various things, but by the time I think "Oh, I'm dreaming!", I'm really too scared to try to do anything besides forcing myself to wake up.

Lately my nightmares almost always consist of one person (or the occasional two) trying to kill me in some way. My behavior varies in all my nightmares. Sometimes I'm a coward who tries to run away right from the start; sometimes I'm brave enough to actually fight back. I remember one where I actually tried to kill the evil DC before he killed me (I already knew I was dreaming at this point), but after much struggling between the two of us, I knew I wouldn't win, so I just made myself wake up.

I haven't really tried any of the techniques like WILD or DILD yet, but I'm definitely going to try tonight. Hopefully I won't be in a nightmare. :]

Whenever I'm in a lucid nightmare I bolt. Next time try looking for some way to escape into a friendlier dream, like a door.

Try to ask DC politely just to leave you alone. Asking always works better on DC than forcing them to do something, but you must be brave enough to face them . Personally, I have never tried it with lucid nightmares, but with regular LD's it works very well.
