      Fey in the Sandman Prophecies

Just ignore the subject of this post. I thought it would make it easier to write an intro. Well, it did .

Im a 1983 vintage and had several lucid dreams before waking up several times n my life. I somehow figured out how to get those more often (that was about 5 or 6 years ago) but somehow forgot it again because of the lack of sleep I took back than.

Last monday (01.10.04) I read something about how sleep works (there was a note about lucid dreaming) on howstuffworks.com, proceeded to wiki and there I found a link to this site. Everything seemed very friendly and the idea of "Journals" catched my attention. The last cupple of days I tried to wake up in the middle of the night with the "drink water method" and setting my alarmclock. The first way didn't really work out fine and the later one made me come late to work once because I just switched the alarm of without noticing it . last night it worked for the first time. I woke up at 0300 (or a little later), then tried to remember everything (really hard) and then went to morpheus again. In the morning before walking up I was lucid for only several seconds and it was more halluzinating than really dreaming. I could decide on waking up or not but I wasn't sure if I had to go to work already so I woke up. I still had a little time left and took a bath.

After that I went to the Bus and wrote down everything I could remember of my dream. (I'll post that in the journal section).

hey fey-good choice of name, very fantasy-esque
So you found us on wikipedia eh? we need to make our link more noticable there...

Well you say you already have lucid dreams? are you sure? because what you describe doesnt exactly resemble a high lucid dream...

In any case, you should read the tutorials (accesible from forum index) and maybe get an adoption (adoption section from index)

I suggest you start with the MILD technique, in tutorials section, and maybe try a HILD once or twice.

Your LDs will probably start coming regularly after a month or so, so keep trying the techniques!

Good luck dreaming, any questions can be pmed to me (PM button under this post) or posted here, or you can join chat (on the bar at the top of your page) and ask the people in there with you.

Have fun here at dreamviews, hope you enjoy yourself!

Good to see you here, Fey! It looks like you've already got a base to work from. I agree that you should check out some of the tutorials. I'd also suggest WBTB, which gave me my first LD (short, but sweet). Anyway, If you have any questions feel free to ask but there's already a lot of information here if you search for it. If you can't find what you're looking for PM one of the Dream Guides or mods or me and we'll try to help you out.

Hope to hear from you later!

I posted my first dream into my Journal. Would be nice to receive some encouraging words

I not only had lucid dreams before waking up (I just had more often in the morning : ) ). I know that feeling of having the full control over everything around and knowing that im asleep. Creating a nice World to be in and then forgeting on purpose that the world is not the one im writing this post in.

I only slept 6 hours tonight again... I didn't even notice the alarmclock at 0355 . I woke up at 5 and could remember to have talked to some goodlooking fellow...

      Nothing worth writing down.

Im eager to give my best again tonight ! GAMBATTE ! (fan of Japanise animation)

I just don't get enough sleep these days. The only thing I can do is practice my RCs. It's so frustrating to see that a friend of mine makes such fast progress though he started one week later than me. I've only had 3 Dreams that I really remember and he does every morning. My friend didn't even visit your site till yesterday and only I advised him...
      *sob*

      STAY POSITIVE, I'LL DO IT!
      CHACKA, WHUZAA!
      SHOUTING IS GREAT !!

I'll do it. Even if I have to sleep at work my 6 hours. Even if I loose my job
      ... *sob*

Could somebody write me some nice words
      <--crybaby needs care

Someone knows how to get lucid when I'm just very tired from not sleeping enough?
Doesn't look like I'll get more than 6 hours sleep regulary (rather less) in the next few weeks.
I should get my self a mentor as soon as I get more sleep.

hehe, your friend is probably just a natural.

Dont worry about it, if you remember dreams at all then you are well on your way, just remember to write down dreams AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP, not after you GET up. meaning you should wake up, and without opening your eyes if you can help it, just remember all your dreams that night. Then again, without getting out of bed, write down your dreams (keep a pen and paper/notepad at side of your bed)
This is the only way to remember all your dreams, and if you keep the practice of this for a week or something, i can guaruntee you will remember at least 1 dream a night, probably more.

Keep at it, you WILL get it eventually!

I never learned how to read or write, so what happens if I simply remember all that I can visually in my head? It works way better than writing things down for me, I can't write enough for all the things I see, and if I don't replay it from start to finish in my head as soon as I wake up (without taking breaks to put it down in words that is) then I tend to lose parts of it.

Like this morning when I woke up, I can still to this point vividly remember most of my dream, including the minor details I thought were odd as I was in the dream... but I can't remember anything before a particular moment in time in the dream. I can still remember yesterdays too. But I haven't written them down...

Maybe I will. I just don't like using paper. So it's time to check out the dream journal thingie. I was looking at yours Fey, it shows promise as a pretty spiffy aspect to these forums.

I'm still writing down my dreams as soon as I wake up but I think that it doesn't help me to post everything in the Dream-journal. Since I'm on the Uberman-sleep-cycle http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8722 now, I won't be concentrated enough anyway to do good on any of my work I have to do. So I guess I'll stop the online-dream-journal-thingy and only post dreams that are somehow interesting and not to bizare.

I'm still on, I only had a very stressful week.
That Uberman sleepcycle is really difficult when the family wants to spend more than 6 or 7 hours in the city walking around... drinking coffee. But that won't be a problem from now on since ma aunt went back to latvia. I also think that I shoud get my self a better alarm clock or even 2 or 3. It's hard to get that 2 hours block in the night go away. Today the alarm started at 4 and I woke up at 8. Thats not acceptable .

I didn't remember any dream in the last week. After waking up it's the first thing I think about and the paper is right next to me but I can't remember anything . I'll stay persistent.

Today I had my first success!

I was lying in my bed and finally found a relaxing position to fall asleep. ...
I just lost focus for a second when suddenly it made like: "BO BOM!"
My conscious was back. What could have made such noise?
Something must have hit my window!
      About 4 Seconds nothing...
      And again: "BO BOM"
Then it started shaking me and I believed sombody broke my window and was now above me (my bed is next to the window).
The bed didn't shake anymore... He must have noticed that somebody is sleeping here. What should I do?
Act as if I didn't notice him? Attack him? Maybe its more than one guy...
      Again: "BO BOM !"

In that moment I realized that my body was paralyzing and remembered that I was attempting a WILD.
That incredible loud sound had been my haertbeat!

I had been too excited and noticed that my haertbeat became faster and faster.
From one beat every 5 to 8 seconds to normal again.
For a moment I still tried to stay relaxed but than I was awake again...

(Ofcourse my haert doesn't need several seconds for one beat but I tried to describe everything as it seemed to me in that moment)

      I did it! :victory-dance:
      My first success!
This gives me the motivation I need to keep going!
      Lucidity I'm coming!

By the way, I didn't sleep 5 to 6 hours before the Wild. Actually I slept 25 minutes (uberman-cycle) and was awake for 4 hours.
I was very tired and filled with coffein when lying down.
