      Was this a Lucid Dream?!

okay so i had this dream where in the middle of riding on a bike down this road i realize im dreaming an everything starts getting blurry and swirling (for some reason every time i realize im dreaming everything gets blurry and swirls away and i lose my lucidity> is this normal?) anyways im like hell no! cuz i know im gonna lose my lucidity so i start rubbing my hands together and spin around a couple times and then everything snapped back into focus! but it was weird. the whole dream didnt feel real? like i didnt feel like i was really spinning around almost like i was watching myself spin around? was i really lucid? i dunno ive had short ones where i became lucid but lost it cuz i couldnt believe it was a dream, it felt TOO real.anyways my first goal is to fly so i jump off and grow wings (i wanted a Angel wings) and fly to my friends house and when i get there i turn around to look at my wings and their tiny and pathetic? and not even white!!! i was so dissapointed i woke up lol. so my question is was this a lucid? or did i just dream i was lucid? mainly because it didnt feel real at all! and i dont remember the flight to my friends house at all!

The textbook definition of a lucid dream is a dream where u realize ur dreaming, while you're dreaming. So as long as you realized u were dreaming (which u did) then that means that it was a lucid dream!
"Of course my life isn't a nightmare! At least you can become lucid in a nightmare."

If you want it to not fade... I suggest doing some of the stabilization techniques.
      Bollocks.

Sounds like your main problems were:

A blurry dream, which you managed to stabilize. It's very normal for dreams to do this when you become lucid, and knowing to stabilize not only the dream but your own lucidity will prevent...

Things like that from happening. Third person dreams are asked about a lot on DV, check these links out and work out a plan ahead of time, so that you know how to stabilize yourself and get back into a body if you want one for your dream.

On the other hand, working on dream control should solve these problems, learning to visualize things you want to happen. In the case of watching things grow on your own back, a third person view might be ideal.

So yea, make sure to stabilize not just the dream but your lucidity too, and to take things slow if you want to experience them. During the flight to your friends house, if you didn't focus enough on the actual process of traveling there, you just said "I am flying to my friends house", you departed, you arrived. Try to slow things down and pay more attention, grounding yourself in the dream and going at a nice steady pace to make sure you can experience everything.
