      Lucidity with time, right?

So I decided to join DV after becoming really interested in LDs. I have done the basics like starting a dream journal and constantly reality checking and so far I have had 2 very short LDs in 3 weeks. Now what I want to know is, does it get better and better? I mean, don't get me wrong the 2 recent one's have been amazing but I want to know if I can improve my lucidity and the time of it any particular way or is it just practice practice practice (and what is practice?).

Any advice for a beginner would be greatly appreciated.

Continue to write in your DJ, that will help you with your recall. Also, don't forget to look over past entries for dream signs (things that let you know that you're dreaming). And keep up with the RCs, the more the better. Some people here do over a thousand of them a day; not only does this help with chances of getting a LD, it also increases recall.

You may also want to look over some other induction techniques as well. There's a lot of good information in that tutorial section, and you can learn a lot just by going through the threads on here.

Good luck and welcome to the forums

Yea, they get better as you learn to induce them better, stabilize them, get them to last longer and be more vivid, and get to accomplish fun dream goals.

Yep, it'll happen. There are ways to speed it up though, check out the tutorials section.

like everything else, Lucid Dreaming gets easier and better with practice.

However, like everything else, you can sometimes have off days. If you find that you're getting better and suddenly go through a dry spell or even simply have less vivid LDs, don't freak out. That's the part that always frustrated me. Whenever I thought I was getting good at it, I'd start losing my streak and get really frustrated. Patience is probably one of the most important things in lucid dreaming.
