      Can't wait to start!

I have been able to invoke sleep paralysis for a while now and I never thought that I could put some good use into it!

I have sleep paralysis most nights, and I learned all the common patterns when I fall into sleep paralysis. I have taught myself how to do it.

The idea of lucid dreaming is fascinating and I cant wait to jump on board. I have already started my reality checks and my dream journal.

I have had lucid dreams before, but very low level ones (I think). I usually get them when something is chasing me. As soon as I go Lucid I try and fly away from whats chasing me. I think this is a problem, because every time I go lucid I have an uncontrollable need to fly. I want this to stop because I always get over excited with flying and wake myself up.
But I guess practice makes perfect

I am glad I found this site, my friends and family think I am weird when I talk about it. They even think sleep paralysis is just a nightmare.

      Thanks Deano.

Haha, my family think I'm a bit weird too when I talk about lucid dreaming, but they don't know what they're missing out on.

I see you've made a great start on your lucid dreaming, and if you keep the reins on your sleep paralysis you'll probably find you're able to WILD quite easily.

I remember when I was younger and having nightmares much of the time. I used to get lucid often when I was trapped somewhere, so I understand how difficult it is to get detached from that scenario.
I find that directing my attention to myself is one way that helps. Looking at how many fingers you have, what you're wearing etc. From there you can ground yourself in the dream and go [literally] fight your fears.

      Welcome to Dreamviews Deano.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Same here, family thinks I'm really weird with this lucid dreaming business and all, but, meh, I can't wait to fly in my next LD or whenever it's possible. Anyways, since you can get SP easily, I would use that to WILD. I've been trying to get SP to WILD, but, have a hard time finding the correct timing Anyways, welcome to dreamviews, enjoy the site and ask away

Most of my LDs come from me suddenly realising I am dreaming when in a regular dream.
I once had a false awakening when I was young, however at the time I didn't realise what it was. Not until I have read about it.

There is a nice little tutorial section on this site, you might want to check it out.

      It depends on the dreamer.
