      I'm New..Please Help

Hey everyone! I am new to this site and to lucid dreaming. I recently learned about it from a friend and thought it seemed very interesting. Anyway, I think I may have already had my first LD, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone can help me out?

So yesterday I woke up in the morning, but then started drifting back to sleep. I was in that stage between being awake and falling completely asleep when I started to dream that I was standing in my room. I instantly did a reality check. I counted my fingers and did the nose thing. I also looked at my clock and the numbers were flashing really fast and I couldn't tell what time it is. The TV in my room kept flickering. I thought I was having an LD so I started to think of what I could do. I really wanted to fly, so at the moment I found myself standing on top of a mountain and jumping off. I was flying in the air. And then I dived into the ocean and swam with whales, while still breathing of course. I woke up after that.

So..I think I had my first LD, but I'm not sure if I was just dreaming about having an LD. How do you know the difference? Also, any info or tips on LDs that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm excited to learn and be part of this site with all of you!

      Hello, BlueEyes
Welcome to the site, well to achieve lucidity here are some easy methods you can do while awake. Go to your nearest park and hang backwards on the monkeybars. Try to get all your blood up into your head and then flip back. You should feel a little dizzy. When you see everything turning black, thats when you'll know that youv'e achieved lucidity. Have fun and be safe. Remember safety is #1. Another way is to run head straight into a wall. If that does not work for you then please get a fork and stick it right into the electrical output in your house. If you don't see results, please try to dive off the nearest building.

Justkidding, sorry for all of that.

Basically look over the forums learn some techniques and try them all out. And yes, I believe that is a lucid dream. Did you instantly get onto the mountains after you made yourself fly? Where you focused on looking at the TV screen?

I guess it was a lucid dream then. :]
You should try to use some techniques this time to achieve lucidity. I recommend the WILD technique or the DILD"o" technique. I'm trying to achieve lucidity through Sleep Paralysis though. Good Luck.
