      Quick Question.

      Allo.

I was wondering, is there a specific name for the state of conciousness when you're extremely sleep deprived and are at a point where youre trying to keep your eyes open but it's extremely hard and you're sort of on the brink of sleeping as your mind can't always depict reality and have mini time lapses?

Also if there is a specific name does making yourself this tired increase/decrease the change of having a lucid dream or even a dream at all?

      This is called a Microsleep.

I think there may be a slight chance that you can become Lucid in this state. That's one of my goals for the summer.

Not sure about your first question, but depending on the person sleep deprivation can repress REM sleep, which is the most productive form of sleep for dreaming. Though, it doesn't seem to affect me very much. Sleep deprivation can also cause an REM rebound, which is an extension of REM sleep, for the next night. So, I guess it can be both helpful and harmful. It depends on the person, whether it greatly affects you, or not at all.

Coolio, thanks for the quick responses.

Microsleep...Sounds cool hah. Is there a specific induction method based around this?

Not that I know of, but it's something to experiment with seeing as the dreams you get come much faster than usual.
