      strange experiences

so yea, last week, i had two experiences of lucid dreaming. i have had 2 lucid dreams before these ones, but those occured during the dream where i realized "hey this is strange. must be a dream." i vaguely remember the dreams after my realization.

however last week, when i went to bed, i was just laying there very tired. an amount of time went by that i had no way of measuring, and then i heard a strange sound outside of my window, like a car crash, and then my ears were like buzzing, and then my body felt a violent vibrating, and then i had sleep paralysis. i had undergone sleep paralysis many times before, once having the scary image of an alien walking towards me not being able to move resulting in me screaming. howebver this time, i remained somewhat calm, and after like 30 seconds, it felt like i was falling and sinking into my bed, which scared the hell outta me, and then i awoke in my bed, only to realize how simplistic my room looked, and noticing everything looked liquid in a way, and seeing clothes sliding acroos the flooor. i was then like, "holy f%#& im in a dream."

its strange, because i just came to the realization that theres a whole nother world in my head, as i was walking around in this other world for like an hour.

its funny, because i remember 60% of my dreams always, and sometimes when i nap, the back of my eyelids are like movie screens sometimes and its like im somewhere, but just observing. well that next day, i napped, and then i was all of a sudden in my backyard, but i still felt my body in bed. so i just walked out of that body and into my dream body. very bizzare feeling.

so ever since ive been strangley interested in lucid dreaming. ever since i felt my body leave my body, almost like astral projection, everynight ive been trying, with some luck but some failure.

so after my long boring story, i hope you guys greet me here

      Hey.

Sounds like WILDs (search the forums if you don't know the term) come easy for you. I'll never forget my first WILD.

      Happy dreaming.

Hi there and welcome to the site! I've only been on here a few months, but so far most of the people I've talked too are pretty helpful and polite. There's a lot of good information posted here too. It's really expanded my knowledge of lucid dreaming.

Most of my lucid dreams start out similar to the ones you described because I also get sleep paralysis pretty often. I've always thought the wake-initiated lucid dreams (or WILDs) felt much more trippy than the dream-initiated ones. To me it feels like spiraling off into some other dimension whenever I've been conscious during that transition from being awake to asleep. It feels so much more real to me when there hasn't been that period of unconsciousness.

I've experienced that same sinking-in-bed sensation too. Sometimes it feels like I'm falling through the bed and then the floor into some abyss or I start flying around out of control. Then it usually stabilizes and I find myself standing in the dream version of my bedroom. It really does feel like you're in another world.

Anyway, I hope you gain some useful insights here and I wish you the best of luck on your journey through the dream realm.
