      Another newbie WILD problem...

Hi Folks, my name is Rand al'Thor,
I'm 31 years old and live in a big city in germany and heard about LD 4 month ago in a song called "Lucid dreams mix May 2004".

After some internet research I started lucid dreaming training (RC/MILD/WILD) and had 3 really cool and long LDs.

The last 3 nights I tried some WILD without success.

Its always the same, I sleep 3-4 hours, wake up and start WILD.
First I m still really tired and try to concentrate hard on my breath+hypnagogic images.
After 1 hour of concentrating I give up, my body is numb but my muscles especially my arms burn like hell.

      No success!

Can you experts give me a hint what is wrong?

      Hi!

Try waiting about 6 hours if you can before trying WILD. Also, do not allow yourself to awaken too much, that often leads to lying awake for hours.

I have been to many places in Germany, which city are you from?

ahh dont try and concentrate, you have to catch yourself just as you are about to sleep! concentrating only serves to keep you awake longer. unless you use a more refined concentration technique that is.

Well use it with WBTB (look in tutorials) and set your alarm for 6 hours after you sleep roughly.

oh, and dont expect them to come at will, keep trying and youll get better at it.

Hi Seeker.I'm from Hannover.Do you know this town or have you ever been there?

I practice meditation also (2 times a day), hope this is good to improve my WILD-ability!? What do you think about it?

How long did it takes you learning WILD? How succesful is it for you? How many LDs do you have in one month/week?

Can you induce LD at will?

Hannover! Well, I've been close anyway.

I've worked in Karlsruhe and Nuremberm, but have visited Dusseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart, Ulm, Frankfurt, Heidelberg. Pretty much and most of the western part of the country between the Netherlands and Triberg.

It took me three months to have my first WILD. That was trying every night for about an hour.

Maybe you will be luck and learn it sooner?

      Good luck!

      hello

Just thought I'd add some of my thoughts. Damascus is no doubt correct about the concentration thing and you might have more chance if you save the concentration for when you about to drop off. However I don't think the concentration in itself is wasted energy. In my experience a lot of these techniques don't always work as you expect. Don't be surprised if you find yourself dreaming of trying to do a WILD - it used to happen to me a lot.

I'd also say the wake up back to bed technique is great. If you are lucky you will find that the imagery you get is much more powerful when you go back to bed after the break. If find staying up for about 60 mins and getting fully awake is best.

      Hi Nighteyes,

I only have 7-8 hours of sleep a night so WBTB is probably not the right thing for me.
I tested this once at 4 AM and could not sleep anymore until my alarmclock was ringing (6 AM).

It is possible to have WILD directly after going to bed in the evening?

If not, what suggestions are good after laying to bed in the evening to produce more often LDs?

It is technically possible, but its very very hard. I think once I managed a few seconds, but only because I'm stubborn . I think your energies would be better spent on something else - perhaps some form of self hypnosis in the evening, to help you focus on lucid dreaming.

What are your favourite hypnosis suggestions?

I use: "next time i'm dreaming i will realize that i'm dreaming"
or i ask my subconcious to donate me a lucid dream.

(sorry for my bad english )
