      Lucid Dreams without super powers?

Right I just had a lucid dream, now Iv been hearing that you can do ANYTHING in lucid dream but I didn't have any special powers in this one. This was my 3rd lucid dream since joining this site, in my 2nd one I couldn't move at all and I woke up. and my first one had really bad quality and it felt more like I was looking at a bad photograph instead of living in reality.

      May 30th 2009

Not sure where I was, I might have been in my own house. I went to my bathroom and I looked in the mirror I saw I chubby face and it looked like I think I though I was fat. (I'm kinda skinny so seeing myself look like that was shocking.) I couldn't belive what I was seeing so I did a reality check, I don't know if I did the finger check but if I did I think it failed. Then I did the nose trick (where you hold your nose and try to breath.) and I could breath in. Then I knew I was dreaming, I also looked at my hands since Iv been hearing they look crazy in dreams and they looked long, skinny, pale, and dead. I was also missing some fingers. At this point I wanted to try some dream abilities, I failed to shoot fire out of my hands and I couldn't create some kind of blue energy shield. From here I think there was some sort of gap, I was suddenly somehere else and I was next to a hole that went far deep into the ground and was filled with lava. I wanted to jump in to see how it feels since I knew this was a dream but I didn't.

This dream was clear when when I had it but when I finaly woke up and started writing it down I was having a little bit of trouble remembering everything and it felt like the dream was scattered in bits and peices.

I don't remember how but I was sudden;y at some sort of big event and tgere were all these different people there. I saw my friend and I knew this was a dream (The whole entire time I knew I was in a dream so I think this was somehow part of the first thing that happened.) so I wanted to talk to him. Right after I got him to stop so I could talk to him I said "Hi, how are you?" I woke up. Before I tried talkign to him in this place I tried jumping up so I could float/fly, I failed in this attempt so what did I do wrong? There were some more buts of the dream, I mught have went back to sleep after this but I'm not completly sure. I didn't write down the other bits and pieces but I still remember a little bit of them.

      So heres my questions

Why couldn't I use any dream abilities?

Why did I wake up right after I talked/tried to talk to my friend?

      Was this all one dream?

The quality of the dream was a little bad, how could I have made it better and remembered everything in the dream?

Does my dream actualy mean anything?

It's easier for some people, and I guess you didn't use the right technique.
Tell yourself "Wait a minute, I was born with superpowers!" - Of course you don't have to believe this yourself, but it should be enough to trick your brain. This is called passive control, when you give something a reason to happen (this is also popular for summoning people and items).

Your dream was probably unstable. Try rubbing your hands.

Say out loud "Increase clarity", or tell yourself "I have better vision than this, the clarity should be much better!"
Keep a dream journal, think about your dream once you wake up (without moving too much) and write down notes.

The first lucid dream I had I could not fly and at one point feel like I was wearing weights. On a dream where I was not lucid and hopping around my school like a tiger, I later became lucid and remember I can hop/fly and just push my luck. (I also shot fire and a energy blast also in this dream once lucid. ) You must believe and not simply test out if you can fly or not.

It was time to get up? There many reasons this could have happen.

      Was this all one dream?

You have like 3-5 dreams per night but only often remember your last one. It may not been in the same dream.

Rub your hands and I heard spinning around helps. (Spinning may cause you to lose lucidly if your hand "hit" your bed and make you have a false awakening, just remember it your dream body spinning and you should be ok.)

Does my dream actualy mean anything?

Depends who you talking to. Some people believe in karma, good/bad luck, fortunetelling, and dreams having meaning. Myself believe a dream is a dream and don't mean anything. It only personal because it in your head other then that, it just a good story or movie to be part of.
Noticed things in my lucid dreams: Not scare of death (kinda forgotten Freddy special power of killing in dreams, opps?) Huge ego which cause me to summon monsters, most DC are useless and don't even speak.
