      Hi Xanadu.

Well, I hate to tell you this, but there isn't something that works for everyone. What may work for me might not work for another member, and vice-versa. What have you tried so far in order to get Lucid? Do you keep a dream journal, and how is your recall? Answers to these questions might help me and other members help you find something that works for you.

Snowy's right. What have you tried so far, and how have you done it?
If you've got the drive, you can learn it. We just have to figure out how

hi everyone, so far, I've kept a journal, and have tried thinking about dreaming and occaisionally doing a wbtb or the thing with fingers. However, these are all on weekends or break, so I will be able to try consistently in the coming summer. I've tried the general approach to LD's, thinking about them extensively. please help with tips and tricks. thanks!

I did not choose the Rush song, but i looked it up. it was interesting.

Awesome, you do have a journal. Try doing some Reality Checks and read over you journal to see some common themes. Last time I checked, Shift had a very helpful quiz to see what technique is best for members, so if you think that would help, ask her and I'm sure she'll give you a link because it's not on this site.

      Quizzes

Remember these quizzes don't, by default, tell you which technique is best for you. It merely asks a bunch of questions about your own sleep physiology and habits, and uses your sleep schedule to suggest one that, with your schedule, might be easiest to help you learn to LD. So they're not some definitive answer, but merely my suggestion as to where you should start researching and what technique you might want to focus on based on various circumstances

Also if you click on How I DILD in my signature, it links to a thread with the quizzes on it. Not that I don't love the attention Actually maybe I'll throw a link into my profile, too.

The most important part of these quizzes is that the questions should prompt you to really think about how you sleep. Don't just take it and follow your answer, but think about WHY each question was asked and what it means for YOU. (I was too lazy to make the quiz tell you this)

ah, thanks for the link, it suggests DILD and MILD, altho i never am able to question what happens in dreams. I might be too logical, and think of explanations, or too oblivious, and just accept whatever happens as reality.

After thinking about LD's for 15 minutes before bed...
I dreamt i went back in time and was killed by a dinosaur (somehow I did not question this). The dream was as vivid as all my other dreams (I have no reference points, they could all be really hazy or vivid), and I did not realize i was dreaming.

      am I hopeless?

P.S., Ive been thinking, things I do during the day are often incorporated into my dreams. If I studied LD's all day in various ways, I might become lucid, repeating past events during my dream. Can anyone suggest good LD movies, websites, youtube videos, etc. ?

      Thanks!
