It was an accident, but what was it?

I have been reading all of the great info here and accidentally had a similar experience as nighteyes described to us a few days ago. I am hoping to get the name of what I did since it really was powerful.

I went to bed on Friday night, and forgot to turn off my alarm for work the next day, so after around 8 or 9 hours of sleep, my alarm went off. Coincidentally I was enjoying a dream at that time that involved me exploring a replica of my office at work, but in a much taller building (sky scraper, tallest one in the dream city actually). All the walls were glass except the one behind my desk. So, whilest looking out over the city I was awakend by my alarm.

As I awoke, I thought of what I had read here and though I do not know the name, I knew that waking amid a dream and re-entering it was some type of different dream experience. So I did that, and OMG!!! What a crazy feeling. As soon as I knew I was back in my dream in my office, I jumped straight out that window and fell forever. As soon as I landed on the ground (street actually) I jumped up over a building and fell to the ground again. I guess you could say I was leap frogging the buildings. This went on for about 3 or 4 buildings before I woke myself.

In the leap frog session, I had some interesting experiences. All of my body respsonses felt proper for free fall....weightlessness, pull of gravity, and even the hair on my arms fell like it was being tussled about by the wind. However, I was still concious of what my body was doing in my bed, and it was going crazy! My whole body was tingling all over, especially in my arms and legs. I also felt these 'centers' , if you will, of energy (for lack of a better term) in my palms and stomach. After I awoke, there were some post waking images (iconic almost) that were unrelated to my dream. A few blinks and they disapeared.

So, what did I do? What is it called, and does any have a technical explanation for the experiences?

This is a great little dream, congratulations

Its not really important what its called, whats good is that you found yourself in a position to go back into a dream and you did it! well done

I know what you mean about being concious of your physical body although I usually just get the tingling in my belly although sometimes its more. I'd be interested to hear if you could see through your eyes aswell. I sometimes can but I never know afterwards whether or not I just dreamt that I was dreaming and could still see though my eyes . God only knows what I'm doing with my eyes open when I'm asleep.

Isn't there a super hero that leaps buildings in a single bound?

Although a lot of people say an alarm clock is not good for LDs this is a good example of how they can be very useful. It just happened to wake you up a the perfect time. When I was working I'd hit the snooze button lots and have short little dream snippets inbetween.

You should know that once you've done this once in a particular morning its very easy to do it again. If I have one of these ld's I'll often stay in bed till the afternoon re-entering dreams or building up visualisations and entering them.

Since my LD powers have all but gone for the moment I think I'll go set my alarm clock

I am pretty sure I did. It happened right at the end. I was pretty psyched about what I was dreaming so I woke up in order to analyze what I did and attempt to imprint it into my memory for posterity . So at that point when the building jumping ended, I opened my eyes and saw my ceiling and the fan etc above me. At that point this greek mythology, lime stone carved eye, appeared right infront of my face, but it was translucent, so I could see my room beyond it. This sculpture fragment remained for about 10 seconds, and then I was fully concious.

Yes, there is! But, sad to say, I did not have his cool, underwear on the outside, outfit.
