I looked around for an answer to this first, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for...using the WBTB method and MILD, how deep of a sleep should you be in to have LD's after going back to bed?

I find that I have a hard time getting back to sleep and if I do, it's a very shallow, light sleep. Sometimes it feels like I haven't gone back to sleep at all but I know that's not always true because I've had some great dreams in that period. The tutorial said to just stay up briefly if you have this problem...this has worked for me sometimes but I was wondering if a light sleep was normal.

I usually go to bed about 11:30 PM and wake up at 5:30 AM, stay up for 1/2 an hour, and then go back to bed for another 1 1/2 hours when I have to get up.

I believe that I just had my first significant lucid dream. I started inducing Lucid Dreaming about 3 weeks ago and have had a few brief moments of lucidity in that time. A few days ago, though, I had a dream where I woke up in the house that I grew up in. I went outside in the middle of the night in my pajamas! I knew there was something urgent that I had to do. Something started welling up inside of me and I started walking, then running fast, and then I took off and flew! I knew I was dreaming and the rush that my body felt was beyond description. I controlled my altitude with my hands. I was hovering, looking at the lights at night when I asked myself: "What do you want to do?" and then I lapsed into a normal dream since I hadn't planned to fly and couldn't answer the question.

I've always wanted to fly in my normal dreams but never did. I'm no genius and usually don't try to interpret my dreams but I think I flew because I've always wanted to and finally was able to do it...I think that was the urgency that I felt.

PLEASE feel free to comment on my question and dream.

Thanks!
