      Introduction and WILD Advice

Hi, this is my first post on the forum as you can see. Im glad i found this forum because i am very interested in these lucid dreams and I was always trying to learn stuff myself.
Let me start of by explaining the situation. Ive always been able to remember my dreams, i wake up alot in the night that is probably why. So as far as dream recall it is superb. When i first got sugery with anaesthesia (the stuff that puts u to sleep) my ears started ringing verrry loud before i fell asleep. Ever since then sometimes when i go to take an afternoon nap that will happen. It scared me at first and i use to try to move rapidly to kind of wake back up and become fully awake again and would keep happening that same day so i would give up. I looked up why and what it means and i came to the conclusion it was sleep paralysis and blah and people do it while trying to achieve WILD. So now when ever this happens i try to achieve one also. My last recent try once my ears started ringing i started counting in my head i counted to 100 and after that i cant really remember where it went. I know i had a dream but i think i had any control over it. This has happened several times except sometimes i see swirling colors. Any advice on what i should do to fully achieve a WILD or if i am and im not controlling or something like that. Thanks. And one more thing, say im having a dream and i realize i am sleeping and if i want to wake myself up i can, does that count as a DILD?

Hello tkbaby13, you could try to use the "spinning and rol out of your body" technique when you feel you are deep enough into the WILD. I have used this many times to succesfully enter a LD. What I do is I imagine myself spinning around my length axis and then roll out of my body (which is perfectly save btw since its just your dream body rolling out of your physical body, although there are those I suppose who whould disagree).

well last night after another try, i came very close. After counting to about 200 i used your roll out of body method. As im not to clear of what you ment i did what would make me feel like i rolled out my body. I experienced a false awakening i had a little trouble opening my eyes. The first thing i did was sit up in my dream and did a reality check. i pinched my nose and tryed to breathe and i could. the first thing i said was omg wow and got really excited but then i told myself to stay calm. right after that i went to look around in my room and it was really dark and im not a big fan of being in the dark so im pretty sure i got scared and put my head back down to shortly wake up 5 seconds after, i think now i just have to stay calm and focus on what to do when i reach that phase.

Hey, thats quite good progress! I have experienced this myself often after spinning into a LD. Sometimes I can see only black and white, other times I can see only partly, etc. The trick is to stabilise the LD once you roll into it. I often did this by rubbing my hands, while starting off to explore. Jumping through my window was often helping me to get the dream started a bit.

If you want to check my technique in more detail, you could check here.
