Took me 4 months. There's hope. You just need to get into the right mindset and figure things out for yourself. Trust me, you're not going to get DILDs every day easily if you just follow what most of the tutorials say. With WILD techniques, it's probably easier. If you can get the technique down, chances are you'll LD every day as long as you do it every day.

Stand up, take a look around, listen to your surroundings, examine an object close up, pick something up and throw it, for all I care. That's how real a lucid dream is. Some people will tell you it's even more real than that. Usually they get "more real than real life" confused with "colorful/shiny" but it's definitely possible.

Technically they can only last as long as your REM period. Since I pretty much only work on induction and don't work on stabilizing my dreams, they last about 5 minutes if I don't lose my lucidity. It's plenty of time anyway. But yes, many people have said that they've experienced lucid dreams lasting hours, days, or even weeks. There's no widely accepted explanation for this, though. Either way, you shouldn't be concerned about dream length, as experienced LDers can get their dreams to last around 15-20 minutes, along with the possibility of chaining dreams (DEILD). Search it.

No way. Your grammar is one of the best out of the newbie forum posts I've seen.

Why not just focus on getting the most lucid dreams one can?
