      Why cant i dream?

When i was a little kid, about 7-11 years old i would have terrible dreams that would scare me so bad i would yell to my parents room, and i would have these dreams multiple times in a night, and sometimes for days, soon i became lucid on my own without even knowing what i was and i was able to change my nightmares into happy/pleasent dreams, now that i am a teenager, i can't remember my dreams hardly ever i dont remember the last time i even had a dream and i was wondering if it was because of my terror of dreams as a child, any answers?

nah, you have to remember that you dream every night, whenever you remember them or not. You always dream. It's a matter of upping your dream recall To do so you should keep a dream journal, basically everytime you remember anything at all from a dream, write it down. To help you recall dreams better you could try and do some simple auto suggestions before falling asleep. Before you fall asleep just repeat something along the lines of "I will remember my dream", it helps for some people.

Also, browse around the tutorial boards of this forum, you should be able to find some interesting and helpful topics there

It hasn't even been an hour, take a deep breath

I would say no. How often do you record your dreams, or any fragments of dreams, or when you wake up in the middle of the night?

The nightmares as a child probably drove you to have little interest in remembering your dreams, whereas I was always so fascinated with dreams that I couldn't help but think and talk about them, building up my recall in the process.
But (unless this isn't the case and forgive me if it isn't), absolute absence of dream recall discipline is likely the culprit here. Try keeping a dreamjournal. You should see improvement quickly.

Yeah i have never kept a dream journal i guess i never saw the point and i thought it would never work but now that i am getting this feedback about it i am starting to consider it, also i am going to try the alarm clock thing where you set it for a couple of hours before you wake up, i am so fascinated with dreams lately i am at desperate measures and i am not sure if being desperate for a dream will help or not

The drive can definitely help, just don't stress out too badly. And yes, keeping a dreamjournal is going to be one of the fundamental parts of being able to lucid dream.

One of the hardest parts of dream recall is the fact that, when you wake up, you have serious memory trouble. You're also tired. Typically, people will roll back over and go to sleep, immediately forgetting the dream they just had. Even if you review the dream in your head, you can still forget it. You have to work on having the discipline to sit up in the middle of the night, regardless of how tired you are, and at least write down a few key words from your dream. For example, "Sword", "castle", "Flying", "bushes", "facepaint". Something like that can be enough to trigger your full memory of the dream, but not writing down those few keywords can also cause you to lose it.

Yeah, and when i do remember a dream mostly whats happened lately, (well i shouldnt say lately since i havent remembered a dream lately) but what has happened to many of my dreams is a wake up and im like wow cool dream and then i start to go over it and second by second i remember less and less and then i try to stop to remember it so i wont lose it but i suppose a dj would help a lot, thanks.

Personally, I believe OBEs obtained by lucid dreaming methods are just dreams. Depending on what you believe is what, sleep paralysis may help. If you get ISP, though, definitely use it to WILD.

As far as the dreams go, yea. That's just bad recall. Working on it will prevent it from slipping away as you're in the process of recalling it.
