      Ahhh help!

Ok so yesterday i started learning about SP and things like that and last night i could not sleep at all because i was too busy thinking about it, and to be honest im scared of it, i know its not likely to happen but what are some facts that could re-assure me that it wont happen to me while i'm not expecting it?

I can't say much about sleep paralysis other than what I've experienced - though I'm not sure if there's any way to be sure it will never happen. I've heard that a lot of people have experienced it unintentionally once or twice in their lives. That being said, the best I can offer you is consolation.

You may get hallucinations, but don't worry - you can control them, and in the case of visual hallucinations, terminate them. If you ever randomly find yourself in sleep paralysis, think of it as the perfect opportunity to jumpstart a lucid dream. If for whatever reason you can't handle it, start by wiggling your fingers/toes and work your way around the rest of your body.

If you are mentally prepared and you know how to deal with the hallucinations, I can honestly say that the scariest thing about sleep paralysis is the anticipation(in my opinion)

Unfortunately you are going to have to just stop worrying. There is no reason to be scared of sp, other than having sleep hallucinations which dont happen very often. SP just feels like your body is numb, if you start feeling sp, and dont like it or get scared, you can easily shake it off. It doesnt actually turn you paraplegic or anything like that. And losing sleep because of fear of it is a bit silly as you get it every night when you fall asleep, you just arent conscious most of the time. If you dont want to feel SP that bad, just go to sleep like you normally would and you wont have to worry about it.

Now if you are trying something like a WILD, and you are scared of getting sleep hallucinations while your paralyzed, the only thing that i can say is dont...fear of sleep hallucinations are the only reason that bad, scary, ones happen. When you wake up and realized you cant move you become frightened and start thinking bad thoughts, so your mind creates things to match. If you wake up paralyzed and realize that you are having a sleep hallucination, stay calm, and think of something cool or fun, chances are it wont be the least bit scary and i have read that you can actually enter a lucid dream from here. Not to mention that 9 times out of 10 it wont happen to you at all. (Odds are actually a lot better than that also.)

So bottome line my friend; Don't be scared!

The sensations of falling do happen, but usually when you arent fully conscious and can be a good sign to get into a lucid dream, and they arent even scary, you probably have experienced this feeling consciously many times. Just feels like a rocking sensation or maybe a jerk that wakes you up, but once again nothing to worry about. If you feel these sensations, just pretend you are on a roller coaster. I like to have fun with them.

Yes exactly, the rocking sensation is different but the falling sensation is just that.
