Thread: I have control, now how about lucidity?

In order to control your dreams you must be in the state of lucid dreaming. Even if you just control them a little. If you can't do it good then you should pratice your ability to control the dreams.

Really? Because I can control every dream I'm in (except for the one I had last night), but it doesn't feel especially clear or conscious, and my logic isn't good.

And, actually, that's not true. The world generated in your dream could be one of omnipotence, but not necessarily because of your consciousness. I have a "feeling" of omnipotence in my dreams, but not an actual consciousness. If that's what a lucid dream is, then I'm highly disappointed. It wasn't in any way new, or revealing, or somehow "clearer" than other dreams.

Edit: My dream logic is still active during these dreams, and my mind is very hazy. My theory is that because I learned to control dreams without going through the process of "waking up" first, my mind got used to being able to do specific things in dreams (some elements are omnipresent, like super jumps), and it doesn't really take conscious choice for these elements anymore.

CONTROL not means LUCIDITY.

being aware that you are dreaming means...KNOWING, THAT YOU ARE DREAMING, that everything around you is not real, that you physical body is in a bed, that you are inside your mind....and that you can do whatever your want....
the most important point is that when you become lucid, you feel a wave of happinness...because it's like being in another dimension in where you are god...
and when you wake up, there is no doubt about what you experimented...and sure you will want to experiment it again

that's being lucid

control is another thing.
I sometimes have dreams in were I have control, and I can do whatever I want, but I do not know that I'm dreaming...

I KNEW IT! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha. I now rule the world.
Anyway, I sometimes can even say "I'm just dreaming, so I can do whatever I want. Now I will fly." But I always have a little doubt, even though I know I'm dreaming. I just have to make that little jump, because it still FEELS real.

you should start doing reality checks man, that will really help you.
so the next time you think "i might be dreaming" do a reality check.
controling your dreams is a lot different than actually being lucid.

Good idea. It's hard for me to expect something to go wrong though, like breathing through my fingers, having extra digits, or having a wrong reflection.
It's quite possible I'll sort of think what I see is weird, but inconsequential. However, it's just a matter of conviction. If I berate myself often enough for not remembering in a dream, eventually I'll get it (that's how I learned to control dreams in the first place.. and how I make changes in my psyche xD)

WHAT? Understanding - Lucidity - Control. I've read a lot about this kind of stuff now and I've never heard of someone fully controlling their dreams without knowing they are dreaming. That's just ridiculous.

yesterday I have a dream in were I could move objects with my mind, I could control a lot of things, but I wasn't lucid.

No need to disparage me. I'm simply using my common sense here.

My definition of the word "control": Control is when you conciously direct or determine something.

So how did you come to the conclusion that you were controlling the objects? It's impossible to control something without being aware(in terms of dreams, lucid) of doing it. Your logic fails.

hey...you can't always be lucid when you are controlling things with your mind, or creating fire...or flying....
it's just a dream, and yes, you are controlling dreams, and it's possible that you still don't know that you are dreaming.
in dreams it's something like:
oh, I can control everything..oh yeah..I'm god

As I think was mentioned before, I control things without thinking about them consciously. That's when I'm awake.

As I tried to say, when I'm asleep, I have an omnipotent feeling, but not really an understanding of why I have that feeling. It's like knowing you can move your fingers; you just do it, you don't wonder each and every time why you can do it.
