      New to the site, have a question

      Hello! I just joined DV last night, I've been interested in Lucid Dreaming for a few months now and immediately attempted to LD a few times, but haven't really been 'conscious' long enough to call it one.

      As for the question; a couple nights ago as I was getting ready to fall asleep, I had my eyes closed and after a few minutes I would see light flashes and other random things happen, Is this close to having a LD or is it just normal when falling asleep?

      It's just good ol' Hypnagogic Imagery you're seeing. Perfectly normal and sometimes used in some LD techniques.
