How Do You Record Yor Dreams?

I'm just starting out on attaining LD's and I'm beginning with improving my dream recall. I awake several times throughout the night so the opportunity to record my dreams isn't a problem. I am however undecided what medium to use.

I've worked in IT all my working life and rarely use a pen these days so hand writing is rather alien to me. I don't really want to have the laptop setup by my bedside so the other option is dictaphone (or similar device). The problem with the later choice is that at some point I'll need to revisit the recording and transfer to text (necessary for spotting dream signs and general dream familiarity).

I'd be interested to know how others record their dreams and what pros\cons they've encountered with their chosen medium.
