      I'm New here

I just found this site and it is great. I have had couple of LD on my own before I ever knew what they were, but there was years between them, so I’m hoping to start having them more frequently. Any beginner tips?

Ha! I got to be the first to greet him despite all you fancy DGs and Mods running around! (Provided you don't post before I finish typing this...which will probably happen) Anyway, I wound up finding this site for the same reason! I had a few LD's without realizing what they were, then I did a search online after talking to a friend about it. Well, here I am now, some 220-odd posts later. Well, the first tip I could give would be to keep a dream journal (write down all of your dreams as soon as you wake up--keep laying down without moving if you can't remember any at first to see if you can recall them) if you haven't already. Other than that, check out the tutorials section for some cool LD methods (shortcuts, kinda, they don't always work, but they're useful). Have fun!

Hey PanZom - Welcome to DreamViews
Tsen beat me to the welcome

      Beginner tips?
      Umm.. well ...
      1) The 3 steps to lucid dreams (IMO) are 1=recall, 2=awareness of dream, 3=control of dream
      2) Dream Journal - this helps for both learning recall, and for dream signs. And a good laugh later
      3) When you wake up, lay still and go over any linger moods, memories or sensations from the dream, and work it back and forward until you can rememeber the whole thing. Then get up and write it down

I don't know where you sit on the scale of development, so I can't be more helpful than that
Look in the tutorials for more advice

      Enjoy the site

Before you get into the technicaleties (spelling?) it would be a good idea to think why you want to lucid dream and for a few days drive the thought home that you 'will' lucid dream. Push foward the positive attitude and self belief, get a foundation of confidence.

Hope you have a good one ey

First off I would like to thank you all for helping, I have looked at the tutorials and they seem like they will be a lot of help. I have not started a dream journal yet, but since that seems to be everybody’s first recommendation I will definitely start one, and again thanks.

AH! *runs from avatar* ..... had a bad Nightmare on Elm St. experience a few years ago. Still recovering.

Anyway, I'm glad you decided to join us! I hope you find that this is something anyone with the desire to lean can do. Just stick with it and you'll see that the results are worth it. Feel free to check out the Tutorials at first which provide a lot of useful general information, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask or search around to see if others can help ya out. I wish you success!

This is my favorite lucid dreaming website. It should tell you everything you need to know: www.ld4all.com This website has the best message board by far. Welcome and good luck with lucid dreaming!

Err... if thats your favourite LD site, why are you here?
In my opinion, both sites are equally great. However the feel of the two differ - and it's a personal decision which one 'clicks' for you
