Newbie alert! Sound the alarm! ;p

Hello! -waves- How is everyone? I'm a newbie around here. (Obviously) I'm one of the younger lucid dreamers, only 16. I'm pursuing learning them now because I read somewhere that as you get older, it can be a little harder to become lucid. I was born with the skill to lucid dream, but it was only a few months ago that I realized that, "Hey! This isn't normal!" when I was having them close to every night for two weeks. I'll be honest, I was pretty freaked out at first. Especially when my mom didn't know what I was doing either. (She's very into holistic things, chakras, and dream study) So, I googled some questions and found that there was a term for what I was doing and there was a bunch of websites on it. So, right then and there I decided I was gonna get better at it! Well, for a couple of weeks now I haven't been able to go lucid so I was trying to find out if I was doing something wrong. I went on google again and eventually found the link to this site. And voila! Here I am! When I found out they had a message board, I figured it'd be much better to ask questions here than type them on google. Oh, and after coming here the first time, I had a lucid dream that night. I'm a huge music addict. Serously, it's my drug of choice. I listen to everything from everyday artists/bands, instrumentals, movie soundtracks and game remixes. To add on to the music addiction, I love to sing and write songs, and also make my own music with a program called FL Studio. But besides music related hobbies, I love to write. I'm writing my own book actually. It's something I'm very proud to say I'm good at. I also like to draw. Usually I just draw the characters from my book or my friends, but since this whole dreaming thing started I've been using pastels to draw out scenes from the dreams. ^^ Then, of course I like to do typical 16 year old things: hanging out with my friends and making complete fools of ourselves in public. So, yeah. That's pretty much it. I hope to have a really good experience here and hope to finally reach my dreaming goals!

SAChan! You lucky natural! There are tons of others like you here. Sadly, I'm not one of them. (Darnit! XD) But I do know a little about the LD trade, and I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. And may I ask, what are your LD goals?

Welll, I really think it'd be cool to meet my characters in a dream and just hang out with them the whole time. I've done that before but I was never lucid, but I think it'd be cool to be "awake" through it all. I've come really close a few times, but my subconscious seems to mistake my characters with my real life friends, so it's never quite perfect. ;p That, and I'd like to return to another dream world I entered a few months ago. That was the first thing I tried to do but I'm still unsuccessful with it.

Hi, lol. lucky you for being a natural, haha. I think you're right about the younger the better though, seems the "naturals" somehow aquire that talent at a young age for some reason somewhere along the line. As you get older our dream recall seems to decrease as you get moe and more involved with "reality" I'm not a natural but it only took me a week to get started, and I find myself getting passed the basics pretty quick, since I'm still only 17 it seems to make sense. Cool having people my age around n_n

I'm still getting the hang of it all, but I'm getting the hang of it. Thanks me too! I hope that I can get a better grip on this dreaming thing with a buddy system. ^_^
