      Hey everyone!

      Hey guys and girls

Just to introduce myself, I'm Nikola (that's my real name), I'm male btw.

Recently got interested in lucid dreaming and astral projection. Read an e-book on it and realised that the astral plane is something I definetly want to explore. The book says lucid dreaming and astral projection are essentialy the same thing because you end up in the astral plane. Is this true?
I feel like it would be a more natural way for me to get to it through lucid dreaming.
I've had a few lucid dreams this year, like 4 or 5 and had something simmilar to astral projection maybe 15 years ago, so I think the choice is clear .

I've been meditationg on and off for a while now, just started developing dream recall. Although I always remember my dream I feel like I need a lot of work to do, to remember all of my dreams during the night. Started my dream journal today.

So, that's it basically, I'll do my best to search the forum for info before asking stupid questions .

Hey Nikola! to Dream Views. Regarding your question as to whether lucid dreaming and astral projection are the same thing, - that really depends on who you ask and what their beliefs are on astral projection. If you are wanting to learn more about astral projection, maybe this isn't the forum for you. There are other good sites that have forums exclusively dedicated to the subject. Though, if you are wanting to use our forums to learn more, I recommend you spend a great deal of your time in the Beyond Dreaming forum HERE. If you haven't already, take the time to read the getting started/welcome message that the Dream Guide Team sent to your inbox. You can view your messages by clicking the "Private Messages" link at the top right of this window. Enjoy your stay here and I look forward to seeing you on the boards (and/or in chat) .

      Thanks Jeff

I am really equally interested in both lucid dreaming and astral projection. Lucid dreaming seems more natural and easy for me so that's where I'd like to start. Anyway, as far as I read, the beggining training for both is basically the same. Developing dream recall, meditation etc. After that I think techniques become different so I guess I'll decide once I develop the basics.
My main goal is becoming more aware/alive during my sleep. IMHO, AP and LD are both good for this.

I read the "Could astral projection really be lucid dreaming?", in the Beyond Dreaming section, and I see your point. Could you also point me to an Astral Projection forum either here or in the PM please? I'd like to learn about both LD and AP at the sime time, while basically only practising for LD for now.

I googled some AP forums, but haven't found any site nearly as good as Dreamviews on that particular topic.
