      New

      Hello

I am seventeen am interested in becoming a lucid dreamer.

I have always been interested in exploring my own mind, and as a pianist who spends hours a day practicing, I think alot. I am noticing lately that my dreams are becoming increasingly bazzare, although not violent, they are extremely disturbing. They mostly consist of surreal images and creatures that i could never have imagined while awake, and have never seen or heard of before. When i have these dreams, my head usually hurts when i wake up.

Ive noticed that the more time i spend practicing piano, the more strange my dreams become. Since i am going to college for piano performance, this is bound to continue. I figure that if i can learn to control my dreams, i can at least make sense of it all.

Start writing your dreams down on paper or on the computer, it's the easiest way to improve. I went from remembering 30 second dreams once a week to remembering 10 minutes to an hour of my dreams every night after 3 days of recording my dreams.
Good luck, and piano is awesome!

      Thanks

I was made turned on to lucid dreaming by an amazing independent film called "waking Life" which you can watch here:

Most of the movie is just random people saying philosophical things but it all gets explained in the end. Definately worth watching.

Hey there, fzongqvxp! Welcome to Dreamviews!

Yaay for another teenager! lol. That's awesome you take piano! That's one of my favorite instruments. I plan on going to college for music production. Kudos for music lovers! =)

So, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of creatures and images are you seeing exactly? Maybe you can try to decode what those images symbolize in the dream world.

Well, the most recent one i can remember started with a false awakening in my bed, but it was light outside. I dont know if it was lucid, but it was all extremely vivid and realistic. So i walk outside and walk across the yard, when i turn around and see a black dog with fire coming out of its eyes staring at me. As i looked at it, the sky starts to warp and bulge and tilt slowly towards the left. So i get pretty freaked out, and so i run back towards my house, but sitting on my front porch is what looked like i giant grey bird, but instead of a head, it had a giant eye that was staring at me as if it was about to attack.

Then i have another false awakening where i am at a different spot in my yard, in a grave that hasnt been filled in yet, and the bird thing is staring down at me. Then i was terrified so i woke up. I remember every minute of it exactly.

Wow. Well, the black dog sounds almost exactly like a hell hound. Have you ever watched a scary movie with them in it before? And I can try to look up what they all mean in a dream dictionary for you if you want.

Yeah, I definitely don't think you were lucid dreaming. If you were, when you saw those things you would've been like "Wtf?" lol.

Hmmm...well, maybe you were only a little bit lucid. But most of the time when you're truly lucid you can stop and go "Hey! I'm dreaming!" then it all explains itself and you can decode or change exactly what's going on.

But then again, since it happens after you spend more time playing piano, maybe it's just your mind's way of unlocking its own creativity. -shrugs-
