I feel like a pro newbie

I feel like a pro noob. I've had many, many lucid dreams, and I thought I was the only one for a while. that is a banana. I told other people about my realistic dreams, where I could control myself in them, and some people laughed at me and others said they could never control themselves in dreams and doubted I could =(.
Then I found this site, and the open parenthesis was flipped over the y-axis. =)

One problem I have is I feel like everything in my dream is trying to prevent me from being lucid. For example, people run away from me, and if I try to attempt (try to attempt to give a go at trying?) doing something, I feel like the dream is closing in on me and I have to fight to stay asleep.

Also a lot of times I feel like my dream sends people to try to wake me up. It's weird.

You make me laugh with your ridiculousness.

      That's a good thing.

Your problem should go away if you stop worrying about it. It sounds like you had one bad experience and now, every time you go lucid, the thoughts you have associated with becoming lucid cause you to wake yourself up prematurely.

I'm a newbie, too, but ive done some reading on it, and there's a couple of things you can do about having everything seem like it's against you in a dream. One of them is to spin around. It somehow puts you deeper into REM sleep, and REM sleep is when you have vivid enough dreams for them to be lucid. Sometimes your surroundings will switch, though, or you'll loose lucidity. It's a little bit of a risk.
The second one is to rub your hands together in your dream. It helps to get rid of the sensation of lying on a bed. Looking at your hands can also ground you in a dream.

The main thing to remember in a lucid dream is that you have control over everything, potentially. If you dont want DCs to try and wake you up, try to tell them to stop it. Sometimes, they'll go for it. The more confident you are, the more likley it'll happen.

      Good luck!

Hmm, I"m not sure, I've been having them since I was little.

I actually started trying to have lucid dreams 3 nights ago, and I had a few last night, but they were bad quality and a few seconds long.

Most people wont believe you, they don't believe what they don't experience for themselves. Here you'll find a huge community of lucid dreamers though, so stick around have have fun .

Yea, I told one of the smartest people in my year at school. And she said "It's impossible to control your dream, because you are subconcious" blah blah blah...

But I told her the slightly more scientific side of things, like how you need to become concious and so on. And she understood then.
