Hello! Sort of an Intro Here

Hey everybody. I'm a returning member under a different name. I've been away from the lucid dreaming game for too long, and it's high time I've come back.

A little background: I'm a high school student, a senior this year. I enjoy school for the most part. I enjoy learning, and there's good socializing at school. Mostly a fan of math and science, although I really like Roman and Greek history (mostly Roman), which was a primary reason I took a Latin class. After realize the immense use of this classical language, I continued in my study. I'm also in French. My teacher is little more than useless, but I do what I can, and she does hit the note a couple of times. I like psychology and philosophy; I find both interesting.

In my spare time, I just enjoy the normal teenage rituals such as socializing, although I do find that I'd rather spend my time in a state of soberness rather than a drunken or high stupor as some do. To each their own. Video games are fun. I kick it old school with my PS2 and a laptop I bought 3 years ago which can hardly run games on their lowest settings. It's around time I buy a desktop, which I'm likely to do within the next couple of months, more towards the end of my senior year, before college. Guitar Hero is always fun, Baldur's Gate series is a great hack'n'slash a couple times through. Need for Speed series is great, high replay; Most Wanted is the definite favorite.

A little of my lucid dreaming history. I've had a total of 11 lucid dreams. Not a large number, but I hope to increase it. My ultimate goal: Be able to lucid dream every night. It's a big goal, but hey, I'm only 17. I have the rest of my life to practice this . So far, I've attempted to do a WILD multiple times, all with failure. I prefer not to perceive this inability to WILD as a failure, but rather an indication of a lack of experience. I really hope I can learn a lot from all you knowledgeable folks! In turn, I hope that one day I'll be able to contribute something! Naturally, all my LDs to date have been DILDs. I almost always use the MILD technique before I sleep, hoping that it'll cause me to do an RC in my dream. I also try to do RCs through the day, but I as of yet have no real dreamsigns (I'm restarting my journal and hope to derive some after a few nights), so the process is greatly hindered by this. Unless I'm mistaken, the practice the MILD technique, it's a good idea to set up a routine to do RCs, such as: every time I walk through a door, see a specific person, every hour. I hear that reinforces memory.

Anyways, thanks for reading this book. I hope to learn a lot from this great community and give back anything I can!

Well, I guess a Back is in order instead of a just plain welcome. Glad to have you back with us.

No time like our SEN10R year to get back in the LDing habit! We'll need all the LDs we can get before college saps away our sleep time.

Welcome (back) to Dreamviews! I do believe you are correct concerning WILD. I found that experience in WILD is the key. Just keep practicing it when you get opportunities. Also, the more WILDs you have, the easier they are to achieve. You should give this WILD technique a go, it belongs to a very reputable staff member: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=42271 - I wish I knew about LDing when I was a senior (and a college freshman also) could've helped me through some tough times. Anyway, its always good to start early. It appears we also have the same goal (lucid every night). Its more achievable then you may think! Good Luck!
