For the cuddly n00bs out there

      Don't give up hope!!
It's been a long known saying, "what's hardest to achieve, brings the greatest results"..well something like that anyway, it's my motivation. When a particular aspect in life, as in Lucid Dreaming, is hard to achieve, let it fuel the fire to keep going.

Some people come here as natural dreamers, they seem to be able to become lucid all the time and have done so for years. This brings in the concept of members ages, we are all different ages. Don't let the sucess of others dilute your passion to control your dreams, it's your destiny to build upon. Others begin having Lucid Dreams within days or weeks of visiting this site and joining, that usually can be contributed to the great information and motivation from other memebers.

For the smaller few it may take months, even years! This might be from other life situations occupying your thoughts, or just that in your situation it's taking longer. I waited 9 months, and then let the whole dreaming process relax (i really gave up because i suck though), then "whack" i was flying with sharks over a beach in a dream that was under my control, not the other way around.

This place still remains a 'warm fuzzy' 'old school' place to chat with mates, about dreaming or not. It does seem as if there are many members who wish to be respected, and fit in with what could be known as the 'core' of Dreamviews members, but really it's everyone, that makes this a fresh place to come to. If there wern't n00bs to come here and ask the same questions all the time, and even the weird ones, then it would become stale and....filled with sensless banter, which at one time or another will consume all of us in it's dribbling fury of nonsense.

All up, keep at it, instead of biting your nails or having yourself off to a chick pic, think about dreaming and how much you want to become lucid.
Don't treat it like a 'make or break' type of hobby, as it will stress you and the LD's won't come. Keep at the basics of it all and relax, Lucid Dreaming is not impossible!!

Ta ta tasty n00bs, and good luck ey

Well said Xisdence. Don't give up that hope of a lucid dream, you'll get there.

      Good advice!

I'd make this thread sticky, but there are too many in here as it is.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

Xisdence, that was well said and I heartily agree! It was 3 weeks until my first LD and I still get them very rarely. However, you have to view any effort as progress. Don't get frustrated some stuff happens that you "should have caught" but don't. I had a dream where I attempted to WILD and it still didn't work. But, I know that as I focus more and more on LDing, the thoughts are permeating my head, bringing me that much closer to success. View it as that: one step closer!

      Sweet Lucid Dreams!

      I can beat that!

I'm new and i'm here! However, i don't have much more to say than that.
Why is it that when i am holding all of the cards, everyone else decided to play chess?

Nah-- a bit reticent, perhaps. At least, all of us Stateside have nothin' to worry about. I'd take a real wacko to hop a 16+ hour flight just for a tasty meal... But then again...
