      Smile Hello

I found this website while searching for dream meanings this morning and decided to join because I've always been interested in Lucid Dreaming, but don't know very much about it. From what I understand through reading about it, I have experienced lucid dreams before, but really didn't realize it until I woke up.

Last night's dream was pretty common for what I have experienced in the past: I knew in my dream that I was dreaming, but I wasn't able to control the events. I remember seeing two or three (I can't remember how many) snakes resting in a t-shirt of mine, hung up on a hanger on the back of the kitchen door. I do remember that one was a python and one was a rattlesnake. Neither of them made a move when I came near, but I remember feeling uneasy, and telling myself to stay calm because it was only a dream, and going into another room. When I came back into the kitchen, there were a man and two women sitting at the kitchen table. I knew them in my dream, but do not know them in my waking life. The shirt was gone, and so were the snakes. I pointed to where the shirt and snakes were and the man said "Yeah, I know. I took care of that." I woke up to my alarm clock just after he said that, and have been thinking about the dream since. Does anyone have any idea what the symbols in my dream may mean, and who the people might represent?

I'm interested in becoming more in control of my dreams, so I thought this would be a good place to start. I'm looking forward to sharing more in the future, and hearing about other people's experiences. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice!

The snakes in your dream might represent a danger in you actual life. In dream experiences that you had in your everydaylife or thinks you've been thinking about, for example things that bother you. These problems and experiences usually come back in your dreams but in a different setting and they are presented differently. If you want to know the exact meaning there are books about dream signs and if you type it in Im sure you'll find a site about the topic

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

It sounds like you were lucid in your dream, but were not able to control it well. Despite what some people will tell you, some lucid dreams actually are more difficult to control. Personally I am of the opinion that understanding "negative" dreams or nightmares is more important than using dream control to force a "good" ending.

Since you are (if I am reading right) lucid often enough, I encourage you to actually ask your dream people themselves. It sounds like they are willing to help you already (since one of them already took care of the snakes). Ask them why they are there, who they are, and what they have to tell you or teach you. Ask why the snakes were there. There is no greater expert on your dreams than yourself and the dreams themselves! Good luck!

That tends to be the problem. Although I am aware that it is a dream, I haven't figured out how to control it. Meaning, I'm not at the point yet where I can make myself ask questions. I tend to just let the dream play out on it's own and ponder it once I wake up. It's going to take some practice, I think, before I can do that.

I will have to study the tutorial a little bit today, and try to see if I can do it tonight. I really would like to try to find out what my dreams mean, good or bad. And thanks for the offer. I'm sure you'll be getting a PM from me soon. :-)
