      Wazzup DV! :P

Hi everyone. Just introducing myself here. If my wall of text is too long for you, you can skip to the TL;DR at the bottom.

People in real life call me Dondon, but people on the internet call me Don. (Probably because of my username Don2) Feel free to call me either name.

I can be described as a smart, funny, lazy Asian (Filipino) high schooler. My hobbies are music, the internet, animating, and I'm currently trying to work lucid dreaming in there.

I've been at a forum before so I know how it works. My old forum is made of people that animate with maplestory sprites. I am a maplestory animator myself, but that is a story for another day.

I've had many occasional lucid dreams before, and I thought that they were commonplace back then. It wasn't until a lucid dream a while back since I learned the truth. The day I had the lucid dream, I recalled that I had read somewhere (most likely my other forum) that said something like: I have heard that once you reach a state of lucidity, you are able to control your dreams. Interested, I searched "dreams lucid" on Google. the main DV site was the first on the list. Since then I've been lurking and have obtained much info on lucid dreaming.

Unfortunately, since my stay here I seem to having a dry spell or something. D: I have only gotten 1 lucid dream 1-2 weeks after I joined. Here's what happened...

I was just dreaming regularly and then I did something that only happens in my dreams. I thought, "Woah. I'm dreaming." o_o That's when the dream immediately changed scenes. It was a false awakening. I thought I was actually awake. It was a school day, and I read the clock. "7:24! Crud! I gotta shower, eat, then leave at 7:45!" D: I was about to run to the bathroom when I notice how dark it was. I had this dream before summer ended and it should've been daytime by now. I took a while to look at my surroundings. One of my friends was in my room playing video games! I again thought, "Am I still dreaming?" I was then transported to a altered version of the downstairs of my house. By altered I mean that all the furniture was the furniture of my house, but I was in much different positions. There was all this random stuff on the countertops too. I thought, "Yes, time to try out some superpowers!" C:< I went to my backyard to try them out. But, it was night time. I thought, "Dang it. It's too dark to see my powers. D: Wait, what if I change the night to day? c:" So I closed my eyes and thought, "Day!" >_<
I opened them and it worked! I was about to try out some powers, but then all of a sudden the dream went completely black. ._. I waited about a minute in complete darkness when I thought, "Ugh, this isn't going anywhere." -_- Then I woke myself up.

TL;DR: My name is Don or Dondon. I used to lucid dream but for some reason I'm in a dry spell since coming here. My only lucid dream was a failed one.

Anyways, I hope to be a great contribution to this forum. See you next post. c:

Don, my man, what's up? Welcome to Dream Views!

Yeah, it looks as though almost everyone goes through dry spells here. I'd say it's nothing to worry about. Incidentally, what method(s) do you usually use to induce your lucids?

Kinda sucks about your dream, but it's a lot better than me.

Meh, just the regular old fashioned DILD. I haven't tried a WILD yet. I haven't got the time because of school. WILDs sound pretty creepy to do though.

I don't keep a dream journal because I already have good dream recall. I easily remember at least one dream per night. When I have a lucid dream as soon as I wake up I try to tell the dream out loud to the recorder on my phone. My only reality check throughout the day is simply thinking to myself, "Am I dreaming?" followed by several reasons that back up my answer. Unfortunately, do this reality check hasn't even happened in my dreams yet.

Anyways, I've got a question. I think I read somewhere that the best time to do a WILD is when your due for a REM rebound. I also think I read that a good time to do a WILD is a nap at like 2:00 in the afternoon or something? My question is that how can you have a WILD if you're not due for a REM rebound?

Hmm...I would highly recommend keeping a dream journal, if even just for your lucids. I find that, simply by keeping a journal, I remember more and more dreams per night than ever before (I just had my first 5-dream night). I've also heard of some members (like Man of Steel) being able to recall 12-14 dreams per night, on average.

Never really tried to WILD (too lazy), but I hear that the best way to do it is to wake up 4-6 hours after you fall asleep and give it a shot. That way, you end up WILDing right before the longest REM period of the night.

I've heard of a lot of people trying to WILD outside of this window of opportunity, but they never get very far. WILD napping seems to work well, but it typically must be performed within 5 hours of waking (or so I hear).

I'd say to stick with DILDing or MILDing in the long run, as they really become easier to do and tend to yield higher quality lucids.
