      Am I missing something?

      Hiya

Allright, I have been trying to WILD (along with WTBT) for almost a week now. I am able to totally relax myself (or so i think). I use white noise produced in my head phones as an anchor.

After relaxing for quite a bit, many times i reached a point where I get a quick one second look into a dream scene, and then I'm back. This happened a couple of times. Sometimes I get sudden jolts (ok that means i dozed off occasionally ).

After that, instead of letting go, I tried to use my concentration on visualizing a dream scene, hoping it would just become a dream. Well, it felt really kinda nice in my body, but I noticed some of my muscles were tensing up, and immediately I'd let go of the scene.

And, I never felt SP coming in. Even when I got the "one second looks into a dream". I felt close to SP only on my first two days with lot of difficulty, and lots of pain all over. And after that, even after total relaxation and absolute stillness for ages, nothing.

Someone please give me some new pointers!! Appreciate it!

      Cheers!

One does not need to be paralyzed to have a WILD.

      Oh, ok.

Ok, forget SP. But I still don't see what else I might or might not be doing right. I waited almost 2 hours today morning lying still. All I got is the occasional glimpse. Should I just try longer?

Well... You said you were using WBTB in conjunction with WILD. What exactly are you doing. Tell me your whole process.

I woke up (testing different times everyday), stayed awake for a while thinking about becoming lucid. Then I go back to bed with my headphones on playing a light white noise (which i use as my anchor). I relax myself using head to toe visualization and heavy breathing. And lay absolutely still from the start.

First one and a half hour or so: I passively listen to the white noise. This is when I occasionally got glimpses of a dream. Sometimes I noticed that the dream forms itself around my thoughts and then, puff, I'm back.

After that I tried to actively construct my dream. I put on a light ambient sea shore sound along with the white noise, and tried to visualize myself at the beach. I felt pleasant, but, like i said in the first post, suddenly I notice my muslces tensing up and I lose track.

Which method do you think I was closer? I'd like it if you can critisize both!

Well. I would suggest trying a later time, to begin with. Sounds like you were just coming out of REM, that's why you took so long to get back into it (a reasonable assumption.)

It sounded like you were closer with the second. Check out the VILD tutorial.

      DILD

      RC
      MILD
      EILD

      WILD
      VILD
      DEILD
      HIT
      Twin Bodies/One Body
      SP

      [WBTB]

See if that helps give you a feel for the different ways to become lucid, and then you'll kind of know which things you need to focus on.

Maybe you use the wrong anchor? Try using something that stings a littlebit, like chopping your legs off...

But really, I think 1 1/2 is too long. Then you are doing it wrong. I read a tutorial that someone really, really exprienced wrote, he said that if done right, it should only take about 20 minutes...? I really don't know, never had a WILD..
